they hang in there with a single screw, fixed from inside the frame, its only a very small screw, easy to miss.

On the 900 they are catch tanks in case of fuel overflow. they push onto some blades coming off the frame. If you remove the air box it easy to take them off.

Mind you if you think that removing the airbox (battery, coils ignition and wiring) is that simple and sensible you probably built part of CERN :spin::p

They also house the carb vent pipes. You need to be a bit careful with these as if you put them just anywhere it can affect the carbs at higher speeds with the air blowing up the pipes.

I remember someone used old 35mm film cases with a few holes drilled in them on the ends then tucked them up under the tank somewhere. I went for one of these when i got rid of mine,

Yup. I did this not long ago. There is a thread somewhere describing it. I used the film canisters and tie-wrapped the vent pipes inside the frame facing into the can. I've had no problems in many, many miles.

Its a bit more hassle than i thought but think they'll be worth it.

Hope its not too cold tomoro
