View Full Version : Longest range Ducati?

Along the lines of Mad Marvin's mpg thread,
1. Which Ducati has the longest range on a single tank of fuel?
2. Which Ducati Monster has the longest range on a single tank of fuel?

My M695 gets me roughly 110 miles + 20 reserve, which is good for about 4 round trips to work. At the end of the month I'm moving to Epsom Downs, 20 miles from my office, so my monster will serve 3 round trips on a tank.

If this has already been answered, please drop me a link to the thread.

I had 147 round lincs before my 620 died a mile short of the petrol station I was trying to get to.
I imagine a 620 Multistrada would probably win with its 20litre tank.

Last week I had 256km, or roughly 160miles.
I filled up with 12,8 l at the petrol station.
Knowing my tank has 10 + 3,5 l reserve I still had some margin.

I drove it up and down to work (60km one way) with around 140 on the speedo

PS: it's an M800Sie if you're wondering, and it does this sort of milage on a single tank regulary

That's some mileage! Do you do that every day?

It's rare I don't get 150-155 miles before the light comes on, and I know it'll do at least 15-20 miles after that, riding normally. That's about 53mpg.
Thrashing it sees about 10-15 miles less to the light.

Sooooo, I reckon I could get 180+ easily, maybe even 200 if I really tried.
(I've lowered my gearing with a 14t sprocket as well, so putting the 15t back on would help the range a bit as well)
:)

Usually get about 120ish before the nag light comes on, whats left can be stretched to a top of 30 miles.. I know it stopped opposite a garage, wrong side of 4 lanes of traffic :grump:

So I spect I could manage 160+ but that would be deeply boring and no fun at all.

That could make a silly event, start from point A and aim for somewhere on a fixed route about 200 and something miles away and see if anyone makes it without refuelling or gets the furthest. It would have to be on a 'standard' tank tho.

Not my 1000DS Monster that's for sure... :grump:

Light on at 90 miles with around 2-3 litres left normal riding, 20 miles less if in a hurry

Blah blah

Managed 95 miles on a tank with, er... enthusiastic riding, and then a further 25 mles or so miles riding like an old man on a Sunday pootle before rolling into a petrol station.

Come to think of it, it was a Sunday, and i am... er, yes, anyway, 90-100 miles on a tank full is the norm

About two hours when the sun shines and the roads are dry.

I would have to say the 620 multistrada the multi's have huge tanks extending under the seat to the tail.

Then i can get 150 miles 20 of those with the light on.(i didnt have a choice all the petrol statin were shut.)
I dont like riding with the light on tho because theres no consistancey i ran out once after 3 miles with the light on.

Have had 165 on the clock before the fuel light comes on - so it could be up to 200 miles !!!!

Travelling on motorway it drops to about 150 before the light comes on.

I got about 800+ miles on a tankful down to the south of France, close to the Spanish border on my S4R. Mind you, the bike was on a trailer. Does that count?

My '95 944cc M900 with FCR41s would do 160 miles of fast road riding before the light came on, i never tried seeing how far it would go before it ran out though!

I have had 180 miles out the tank of my M900. I wouldn't want to try it on a regular basis as its pretty much dry at that, but as I had left my money at home I had no choice but to carry on!

Well the 'rules' said:
1. Which Ducati has the longest range on a single tank of fuel?
2. Which Ducati Monster has the longest range on a single tank of fuel?

No mention of it being actually used at the time LOL

Thanks for your comments, I think a 800+ mile S4R is the answer. Does it come with a free car and trailer?

I'm now a little tempted by the Multistrada but not at the expense of my 695. Would it work for shorties like me though? Mighty 5'6".

The M900s sound good too, staying with Monsters.

I live pretty much on Epsom downs and travel to Canary Wharf everyday. I go the south circualr route (Croydon, Beckenham Catford then Blackwall) and its 50miles per day. I get 2 days out of a tank.

I got 130 miles out of a tank before the light went on. Didn't want to risk finding out how much further it would go though.

At 45 miles each way I can do one and a half days on a tank.

Just.
