im after a seat cowl for my 695
would this one work???

It should work, but you will probably have to build your own mounting hardware
because the original one looks completely different.

Also you can't really tell if the quality is good,
maybe someone fitted the same and gives some kind of feedback,
but it will be probably easier to get an oem second-hand one
already painted to fit your Monster.

just had a reply from the seller and he says it wont :( anybody any ideas where i could find a 695 pillion seat cowl....
black would be best

There's no reason why that shouldn't fit, as all the seat cowls are the same (apart from the 696 obviously).

Like MagnaJeep says, you've just need the mounting brackets.
