Best place to try out non Ducati bikes in Kent area (ish)?

A couple of my mates have recently just passed their tests and are looking to buy some bikes. One has a Bandit 400 whereas the other has just passed so has just sold his CBR125 (?). They had a sit on my 996 and I have discouraged them from Ducati ownership on a couple of counts - 1. the cost of servicing, 2- the cost of spares (they are likely to drop it).

I want to take them to a friendly dealer who has a large selection that they could try out. They really like the riding position of my 996 and has made the Bandit owner start thinking about sports bike rather than the 'upright' style bikes like the bandit etc. Budget is about £3500 so looking at R6, CBR600 or SV650s? Other suggestions gratefully received?

Simon, some dealers dont let newbees out on bikes for test rides these days, so do prime your mates that they might possibly have to 'leave' or 'offer' a very hefty credit card deposit if they can go for a test ride.
