You'd have thought finding 1 to 1 tuition in Pompey ought to be dead easy.....

3DS might be a bit trickier... Where I have to I use blender... Don't forget to check scum uni as well

yep tuition is the easy bit and all the learning centres near by either dont do 3d or do but full time degree which is tempting but cant justify another 3 years after the last 7 ;)

there are some useful screencasts for blender on http://showmedo.com - there have to be some 3DS max ones out there too (google for 3DS max rather than 3D Studio max)

Must admit to being happier with lightwave though, that was an 080 amiga base with a newteck raptor multicpu render box. Not convinced my PC would be anywhere near as quick.
