instrument lights

sarahs bike has developed yet another fault,:confused::confused:
the instrument lights and indicators have both packed up at the same time :confused::confused:
have checked for loose connectors but cannot find anything amiss.
according to the haynes book of lies, the only common factor with the instrument lights is that they share a common earth, but where is this taken from ?? but i cannot see a link between that and the instigators packing up. are the indicators earthed through the instrument panel ?

I had a similar problem check the wiring in the main loom that passes through the frame to behind the headlight, it might be tight when you turn and pull on the wires??
