Hi every one. The Copdock bike show is being held on the 5th of oct at the Suffolk show ground just outside Ipswich.. Who's up for a day out, going to the show and then on to Felixstowe for ice cream!
This may be the last chance for every one to meet up before winter sets in so lets see how many monsters we can get to gether!( although I do'nt expect a world record!!!lol)

We were intending to go but have been invited to a party on the night before, and as it's a Sunday Club one it could be pretty mad and not finish until stupid o'clock on Sunday morning. Could pm numbers and if sober enough will let you know! I've finally started to gel with the bike so would like to go for a longish ride to get relationship more established so to speak! It's a sod the two events have clashed but it's not just anyone who gets invited to a Sunday Club party so it would be churlish to turn the invitation down.

Nonnie, can a send you new keyboard? Your spacebar is on the blink, and possibly the 'T' key, as well.

Blimey hon, under the thumb already? You're going to have to get your lovely lady a bike so she can join in, then kitchen passes will be consigned to the bin. Clives allowed out as long as he keeps my bike going.
Where would everyone meet anyway? Bearing in mind the Norfolkers will be coming down A140 I guess, Essex contingent up A12 and you and any other Cambridgers up A14. Or do we pick a stand or something and meet up at the venue?
I'm still hoping I won't be too tired to go although looking at the weather it's not too promising. It's rained every year I think. I've been twice, once on my 125 and got soaked, then last year or year before in a car and watched everyone else get soaked.

Someone has to look after the kids.

Sorry Grumpy, can't make this one. Actually never made it in the whole time I lived in Ipswich either!

:) nah just enjoy my time with the girls too much and when they're not there enjoy my time with my good lady.

She does like her alone time to sort the house out so sends me out on the bike for a day every now and again.

If the weather is OK I'll join you all being well - and it'll be nice to see a few friendly faces!:biggrin::biggrin::biggrin: Of course, the grumpy one is just as good!!!!

Sposed to rain again! It's done it every year. Praps a Wallace and Grommit type outfit for the lovely lady Sqiffs, then you can have fun with your girls too! I must admit I can now understand the going out on your own thing. I went for a solo pootle for the first time on Friday and it felt wierd not having a black Fazer looming in my mirrors but it was lovely to ride at my own pace without worrying about his nibs getting bored.
Anyway back to Sunday any ideas where to meet up? Still not sure if we'll make it but if we have time and place we can at least try to be there! Hopefully I won't get scared witless going over the Orwell bridge this time. My 125 was sucked from side to side by lorries and the rain was coming down sideways it really wasn't fun!

Howdy everybody...watch out watch out grumpy's about! lol
Gremlin, if you guys are coming down the A140, how's about meeting at the services on the A14 junction, there's a little chef there we can meet up in, say at 10ish?
Benson, would this be to far out of the way for you? it's about 10mins in the opposite direction (west bound)on the A14/A12 junction for the show ground.By the way, thanks for managing to change my 'handle' an extra large ice cream is your's on sunday!:spin:

If we're not there by 10.30-10.45 go without us, we'll be nursing hangovers! I've never been to a Sunday Club party before, I've heard they get a bit loopy and can carry on till dawn so it's a sod the two clash. But would be good to meet up you you guys again. If not we'll have to find something else to do another day. Is the Little Chef the one that used to be Sarahs Pantry many moons ago? It's on the roundabout at the end of the A140 if it's the one I'm thinking about.

Thanks Albie, I can be a bit over the top so it's good to hear I made the weekend more interesting!

Gremlin, hopefully will see you on sunday,I'll pm you my mobile so you can let me know if you guys can make it. and you are right, it's the little chef by the roundabout.

gremlin
02-10-2008, 09:46 PM
Cheers hon, will do my best to get there but it depends how the party goes. If it gets too much at least we've got a good excuse to leave early. Things do get pretty wild apparantly and I don't do wild! Be good to catch up again and I want to get a good run out before it gets too cold and manky, although I did ride all year on the 125 so it's no biggy really. Will have to break out the winter gear if it's as cold as it was today though. Cold and wet don't do me any good.

Have to say that 10 AM in SUnday isn't something I'm usually too well acquainted with Grumpy!!! Best I try and see you there methinks....:dizzy:

gremlin
03-10-2008, 04:00 PM
Same here and looking at the forecast it doesn't look too brill, more like one of those days to snuggle up in front of a roaring fire as opposed to riding a roaring Ducati. Riding in the wet when hungover isn't my idea of fun I must admit! Will have to see what it's like on the day and plan accordingly methinks. I know I'm a wimp but I ache like hell when cold and damp.

Grumpy
03-10-2008, 06:26 PM
Gremlin , Benson....your're light weights!! Surely the offer of ice cream on the sea front at Felixstowe is worth an earlyish morning and alittle persipertation!
(note to self, buy dictionary as spell check has packed up.lol)
Seriously if 10 is a bit early, we could meet later in the day?
benson, i'll pm my mob to you.

gremlin
03-10-2008, 08:15 PM
We're girlies so allowed to be wussy! I'm ok riding in the rain, it's just the idea of going out knowing it's going to be cold and wet. Nice hot coffee or hot chocolate would be far more appreciated I think, what do you say Benson?

Grumpy
03-10-2008, 08:34 PM
you're twisting my arm, ok i'll buy the coffee's instead of ice cream! lol

I'll ride out to the services and meet you folks there.

benson
04-10-2008, 08:07 AM
Well if I'm here I'll come on over and try to work out which services you all mean!!!

I'm actually just not sure if I'm' meeting up with Justine tomorrow or not but if not I'll be there - I'll text PD and Grumpy to make sure no one's left hanging around if I can't make it but it would be good to see everyone!

Actually - arranging a meet for the east anglian contingent one weekend as long as the weather doesn't seal us in for the year!

Happy weekends !!!

gremlin
04-10-2008, 03:05 PM
We could start doing what we used to when I was in Sports Six club and have a monthly social sunday. We'd use club cars or everyday cars depending on how precious people were about their pride and joy and pick a pub and have lunch. Obviously some of us lightwieghts aren't going to want to bike it if weather is awful but would still like to socialise and it would brighten the gloom of what could be a pretty manky winter. In summer we used to go to shows most weekends so it did get a bit much but as there aren't a huge number of bike shows it wouldn't get too bad. We could try to get the east anglians together and do the rounds of the areas.

SOunds as if tomorrow we will need fins and a snorkel... Reckon I'll be setting the alarm for Moto GP and cooking a roast dinner and not leaving the house - hey ho.....

gremlin
04-10-2008, 05:47 PM
Yup, sounds like a plan! It's blowing a hooley here so snuggling in front of the fire watching Motogp sounds far more appealing at the moment, but I'll set my alarm and see. Either it'll be up and off or back under the quilt! Wuss and proud of it!

I got up for the gp and soon will be off to the show, the stalls will be there and the least i can do is go shopping.

and I think it is stunning but at the moment have held off. Instead have bought a tasteful (? well I like em) set of Power Rangers Dainese leathers to match the naughty bike.

i went to a soggy bike show, it was wet and really sad as so many people had tried to make it work but it failed. The riders in the show ring could wobble a wheelie and do basic ramp stuff, the auto jumble was depressing as some people couldn't even be bothered to unload the van. The trade stalls were lacking and all i got was the bolts i wanted and a few mags and a book. Oh well i made the effort.
