I just fitted my tail chop with a bit of a mess on with the wire from indicators but pretty straight forward.
I also bought the after market smaller indicators.

I know i havent got front mud guard. I had a little accident with the disc lock...dont ask.
So i have ordered the carbon front hugger.

I think the standard rear hugger is good enough. wont be changing that in a hurry.

Looks nice. Dare I say maybe 2" off the cans?
Who's is the red 620 down there?

Looks great to me - I'd leave the cans as they are.

The dog looks a bit lost

;o)

And why bother covering up your numberplate when it's on display to the whole world whem you're riding, and we know you live opposite number 20 and near a green VW Polo with the numberplate T639 SB? from the photos anyway?

:D

Like the tail chop though. I still might get one of those, thanks for the photos
Is that a legal sized numberplate?
If not, how big is it please?

Excellent!

I'm half way through fitting mine - just reassembling it. Lots of guesswork involved as the instructions aren't great.

Could you tell me where you fitted those square clips? I'm currently going with the lower edge of the splash guard. Confirmation that's right would be appreciated :)

The lack of tail does emphasise the cans more, but not as bad as a regular chopped monster with long (DP) high levels. I like the chopped 696 look but the can heat shields are begging to be replaced with carbon, or at the least black painted IMO.

They bolt the pate holder to the tail tray.
theres slots on the tail that they slot into and then you bolt the plate holder to them.

Its probs not legal but its only 1" shorter than standard plate. its 8x6 and to be honest its to short to fit on the brackets supplied. The width is spot on but it could do with being an inch higher,so 8x7would be ideal.

Cool thanks.

I also eventually spotted them in the background in one of the badly photocopied photos in the instructions that come with the kit.

More progress with the installation today, though it took me a couple of hours to line up those bolts, brackets, plastic, spacers, metal, etc with the seat release attached! Phew!

Should get it completed tomorrow!

Thought it would be more straight-forward, but should get it completed tomorrow - fingers crossed all the lights work!

Cheers,

Cheers, thanks for the info. I think it looks really good
:)

And FYI 'chicken strips' are the shiny, unscrubbed bits on the outer edges of your tyres that show you don't lean it over very far in the corners.
;)
:D

In this pic of my bike a few weeks go there are still some very obvious chicken strips showing -

But now the tyres are scrubbed right to the edge and getting more heavily worn slightly further back (I don't go the edges all the time, that's asking for trouble IMO!!)

give me your license number and i`l show you why i cover the plate up or u`l find out when loads of speeding fines come thru your door. You have a red monster 696,right?
and the vw polo doesnt stay at my house cos it isnt mine and the number 20 is the house in a different street behind my house,so it give you no info at all really.
As for the chicken strips...i didnt know it was a competition to see how low you can go and hearing how the rear brake lever is lower than footpeg and can bend quite easy from leaning to far over with this bike,i kind of watch what i`m doin as i paid alot of money for the machine.
