Ha....
Just found something out ..... when you first turn on the ignition on S2r ... just after instrument test has finished .. by repeatedly pressing thr right hand button you can vary the instrument brightness....
Don't tell me ... it's in the owners manual...
Go on try it ... it's dark now.....
