10,000 miles (I think, but I would need to check the breaker's invoice)
Complete except throttle bodies, ECU and wiring loom.
Paint's peeling so would need a respray to look good.

£300

Collection only from RH5

did you? on what channel?

In case that was you, sorry I still don't know how many gears, so in doubt I will advertise it as 5 gears gearbox...

Btw, I will be looking for an early 583 engine ('98 and before) for my DD bike. As such I'll be happy to swap my 620 engine for a 583 one + a little bit of cash as long as the mileage of the 583 is not too high (15,000 max) and can be proven.

Tonio,

I have a 1999 600 engine im flogging if your interested! Why are you looking for one before 1998? Is it racing regulations??

Its the early style he's looking for Yorkie, as they do appear the better engine (as we also found out when dropping the 2001 583 & lobbing in a 97 583) as several others have found too :)

I've got a 1999 one too in the bike atm :)

Earlier 583 engines are 2-3 bhp more powerful than the later ones without needing further work. I don't know why, but I trust my source ;)

Just don't tell Dallas as the Class B bike I have just built him has the later 583 engine from a 98 Monster.
Still I can't see him missing 2bhp, more like missing the 125bhp from the last bike he raced.
Could be a interesting meeting forhim as a few hours ago he was on about entering the Sound of Thunder on his RC8

Tonio if the engine is still available in a couple of weeks time I'll probably have it off you

No worry Kev, will keep it quiet ;)

I am in no hurry to sell the engine, and would even prefer to swap it for an early 583 one + a little bit cash tbh

So, I haven't actually looked IN the engine but as the donor bike was a 2003 Monster I have been told that it will definitely be a 5 speeds gearbox.

And mileage is 6250 :)

Tonio I have two early 583 engines at home in bits with the intention to build one good one from the two, what I do with it will depend on how Dallas gets on this coming weekend at Donington.
He was going to enter class A but a good bike would have cost him anywhere between £2.5k to £4k, so we built a class B bike from my spares using the newer type 583 engine.
One option would be to do what I did and convert the 583 to a 620 for next year, his other options are to ride what we have built or if the engine does feel lacking then get the older motor sorted and chuck it in, either that or he swaps it with the one in my second road going M600
Lots of options and we need to see how this weekend goes.
