£1.50 a day (i'll bet it's per time you park, so if you move bay they'll want some more money: edit: apparently not)
£5.00 a week
£20.00 a month
£50.00 a quarter
£150.00 a year (£2.89 a week)

Free if you ride an electric machine

...can't wait until they start a congestion charge as well.

however they are graciously letting you park for free in August if you sign up online before the end of the month http://www.westminster.gov.uk/cashlessparking

edited: notice on the lampost this morning shows the monthly and quarterly charges

edit2: scans of flyer

Twats! they've just got rid of a 10-15 space bay on the corner of Lincoln's Inn Fields.
Create more demand, then start charging. You pay the charge and then find you can't find a space in a bay anyhow... brilliant. Every other council next I guess. Useless mayor will wash his hands and say it's down to local legislation.

_apparently_ there are some council owned car parks you can park for £1.50 a day in as well, but i can't remember where i saw it.

i have signed up for the service and am waiting for my 'free' august permit

I use to commute into Westminster/Mayfair everyday for work, if I was to arrive any later than 9am I wold have to park my bike over behind Belgravia. I did however find a car park where you can park for free, very limited spaces but i never found it full, it's a well kept secret, but not anymore, its the underground carpark in the middle of Park Lane, Hyde Park Corner end. I haven't used the car park since leaving back in March but i'm sure it's still free.

P.S. Don't tell too many people,

I'm fed up with having espresso scoots parked all over my ktm in public spaces. I'm paying to park behind the ritz, but it's dry and safe (and tax deductible)

...so much for the permit showing up within 24hours.
I applied for mine on the 16th, nothing yet.
Have just used the online enquiry form, will see how long it takes them to get back to me.

Shocked! Double shocked! Such b***ards! I cannot believe it! Well, first of all, thanks to Ladibird for telling us before we get a fine for parking on a motorcycle bay. What do they have in mind? Well, such a silly question... get more money! As you pointed out, next it is going to be congestion charge (congestion on a bike, ha ha).

I will visit this thread again and again to see how we deal with it.

still no permit showing up online and the online query has been replied to with:

Please call 020 7005 0055 (select ‘star’ and then option 3) for assistance.

So I called up and the woman, while polite and wanting to help, was unable to help as there is nothing on their particular logins to show anythign about permits. She did suggest that I call their other general enquiries line on 0207 823 4567.

This resulted in another woman, who seems to have been getting calls about it a lot, basically telling me to wait until it goes live on the 4th and I should have the permit by then and if not to call back.
I told her I would be going on holiday at the start of August and what would I do if I returned and the bike had been seized or ticketed due to not having a permit and the best result she could come up with that they should have more information on the 2nd and to call back then if the permit wasn't showing online.

They have no facility to help with a system that is not yet live.
Will keep you posted.

you can swap it between them if they are both registered in the same account, unless you're riding both into town on the same day

Yep, thanks for that. I was very surprised to find that out when I registered - very generous of them.
