......Jan & I went for 4 days, and a very pleasant little break it was too.
We visited various places, and one of my favorites was the 'Bovington Tank Museum'. http://www.tankmuseum.co.uk/home.html
Anyone with an interest in mobile fighting armour, should try and visit this place, as it houses the worlds largest collection of tanks etc in the world.
The size of some of them is awesome. For instance:-

Here's Jan in front of a small British MkII Light tank, built in the years between WWI & WWII.

Now compare the above to this. WWII King Tiger tank.

And this Jagdtiger tank destroyer.

A relatively smaller Sherman tank. This is similar to the type that my model is representative of.

A good many hours can be spent here by tank anoraks.http://www.mysmiley.net/imgs/smile/happy/happy0105.gif (http://www.mysmiley.net)

Poor girl, she is very big and green I take it, probably professionally limiting looking like that I'd think.

Oh you notice the AVRE tank out the back? That's the one my brother used in the Gulf, he was temporarily RTU'd to the RE as they were a bit short of tank commanders, then they gave him a challenger, THEN back to his 'normal' job with a KLR (I think) dirt bike for scenic tours of the backwaters of Iraq.
