Ok,

I lost my rag with the airbox on my M600 so chopped the bl**dy thing off.

Has anyone used single pod air filters on the inlets & what would be recommended.

Thanks

Use K&N RU-1750 pod filters but you will need to re-jet the carbs after or it'll run like poo, also with the air box gone completely you'll have to fabricate a battery holder....

Thanks Kato.

What would be the recommended jet size & is a kit available here in the UK?

Cheers,

DynoJet or Factory Pro both do jet kits.....

A few people have fitted pod filters and generally seem to have found the carburation very difficult to get right afterwards. I would personally stick with the standard airbox, K&N filter and chopped airbox lid.

Zimbo's spot on it is a pain to get right but nothing a little dyno time can't cure...

Found these on fleabay:

Not a bad price, £30 the pair but waiting for a reply regarding cost of shipping to the UK.

The jet kit is the expensive part approx £80 but I'll try the filters 1st then decide on a stage 2 jet kit.

I've read on some posts here that lifting the needles by 1 notch could help and fine tuning the mixture could help to.

I've a Carbtune kit that I can check the combustion colouring with but of course it's not that accurate nor can you check the full power band.

Anyone know who does Dyno Tests in Herts/North London & a rough cost?

When I find out the shipping cost of the filters, I'll post the info here.

Pretty good price for those however my guess would be that shipping will double that cost, think I paid £19 each for my last set.

i dont think stage 2 give you the air corrector jets either.
james at http://www.bdkraceeng.co.uk/ can sort them and set your bike up properly.
My experience on these pods are that generally they dont really give any benefit over a standard airbox setup, and in the case of a certain make and model (which i wont mention on here, as i run another forum ) actually reduce power figures, but because they can never be setup to run properly, the flat spots and sudden power band at certain revs give the impression of extra power at a certain rev band. not generally worth it imho
