Hi it looks like I have managed to warp at least one of my front discs. Anyone have a pair to sell. Current fitted with Brembo Snowflake marked min thick 4.5mm but will be happy with any that are straight and fit.

Cheers

These I believe are common to recent Yam FZR's and YZF's with 320mm disks which might open up the field a bit for you. Also Aprillia and Guzzi use these but not sure which models.

its a 620.
i'm sure someone will be along shortly to correct me if i am wrong but....
they dont have 320mm discs. like 600's
they have 300mm discs and 2 piston calipers

If theyve been swapped for 320's then indeed they are used on yamahas.
Old ones. FZR's and YZF's up till the mid 90's

They should have 320mm discs fitted, that's what the tech spec and brochure said. However, Ducati fitted the same discs and calipers as the S2R 800 on to some 620's. I think they only did it to the later ones, probably to use up old stock. We bought a new 620 last year to race and it came with the 300mm discs. Quite annoying really but as we would be changing the calipers anyway we let it go. If it was going to be kept as a road bike then I would have kicked up a stink

Before you bin the old disk try this.

To get the wheel out you'll need to have the wheel off the ground.

Hold a pencil against the disk and gently spin the wheel, that should help you locate the high spot or low spot.

Give the disk a whack with a hammer to knock it back in line.

The disk bobbins have wavy spring washers holding the disk in line, sometimes they get crap in them which makes the disk run out as if its warped.

Worth a try.

Hi guys, cheers for the responses. The discs are 320mm.

Interesting suggestion crust, will have a think on that one.

The round bobbins can also get stuck full of kack. Try freeing them off using an electric drill with something on the end that will fit into the bobbin and spin it round, such as a rag wrapped around a drill bit. Keep squirting it with brake cleaner whilst it rotates slowly.
A delaer in Bristol failed Cor's bike on it's MOT coz of "warped" discs. Sadbiker gave them to me to use on the DD bike. Quick clean up and we've raced on them since without a problem.
