Can anyone give me some advice on what other shocks will fit a 98 plate monster 600. The one on the wife Duke has finally give up and is making the bike squirm like hell so I need to get a replacement.
I could go after-market, but was wondering what else might fit to 'widen' my search.

Is it the one fitted with the 'piggy-back' reservoir?

If so I may be have one that would suit ya. Bought it for mine only to find out it was the wrong type.

If you're after a new one then you could do worse that gettign a hagon replacement as they're a reasonable price and superior to the Sachs jobby already on there... http://www.hagon-shocks.co.uk/main1st.htm

Pro V Twins had a stock of Ollins shocks for the 600 at half price, they may still have some in stock.

888 rear shock will fit but you may have to get it re-sprung (As they are hard.)

And maybe harder to find!!

We picked up a brand new Sach from ebay.. At a 1/3rd of price it was going to cost for next cheapest item. They may not be the best but it does the job, specially at the price.

I have been keepin a eye on ebay, but not much has turned up at the moment, just the one standard shock I'm watchin'.
And its not the 'piggy-back' reservoir, just a straight spring with pre-load and damping adjustments.

Only the 851 /888 one will fit, but agan they tend to be expensive and hard to find, and they're firmly sprung!
Your best options for new ones (assuming you can't find a cheap ohlins!) are Hagon, or Wilbers (from solo corse). Wilbers is the higher quality and is custom built, valved and sprung to your weight, both options should cost in the region of £250. Another option is Nitro, a touch more but British and high quality, cheaper and better than Ohlins in my opinion.

Hi Grinch

Did you look on that ebay site? below the item was an ad. for shocker service for £85. with 4 year warranty. Seems reasonable to me, I don't know the company, but probably someone on here will. Must be worth a look.
