I fancy organising a girls group ride in to Weston-super-Mare Bike Night one Thursday, possibly next Thursday 26th June. Suggest meet at and leave from the Matalan car park next to Morrisons on the A370 on the way in (just off J21 M5) at say 7pm. Suggest not only Ducatis. Sadbiker will be on the sea front with his camera ready to get a group photo as we arrive. Any interest?

I'd love to but unfortunately it's a bit too far away for me - pity I can't be working in Bristol the day after - good luck with this - a top idea!!!

So is it just me and Mrs H then?

Ah bless you Halina, I wouldn't expect you to come over on your 125 although, having said that, there's now nothing to stop you riding on the motorway is there?

This is a smidge on the side of sexist, isn't it?

It has been highlighted that any blokes that ride like a girl(no offense intended), wearing wig, bra and a Tutu will be made most welcome to join the ride.

I will be on hand to take photographs when you arrive at the sea front.

Weston is a bit far. Are you doing the beach race?

No, I tend to avoid it, gets a little to packed and cramped and normally to messy, But then again if I am not on call this year(which will be a change) I might go and take some photos of people falling off. At least with my new lens I can stand a bit further back.

I know a few people who've taken part and they each said the same thing afterwards, "never again!!!" :chuckle:

If you have ever been to Weston Sea Front, think of a line of motocrossers and other things stretching quite a few back. Then think of starters orders and a free for all. Lots don't get past the first corner. Once down then trampled on. And some of the hills they make in the sand , they are difficult to walk up let alone all the bikes trying it at once.

But some people just love the buzz.

Lots of gaffer tape around the tops of boots too!

Could have done with some of that last night with the rain that came down. It started as light drizzle and didn't look as though it would come to much but it persisted and by the time I left the sea front for home it was lamping down!!!

Thanks to all the girlies who turned up and well done for braving it. No sign of any men in bras. Guess they must have wimped out, afraid of getting their hair wet!

We had a total of 7: 620, 695, S4RS, Suzuki GSR600, Kawa 636, 600 Bandit and a GSX1300.

Will arrange another next month (and remember to book the weather next time ... sorry!)
