Been spotting monsters sans tea-tray. easy job? where do i get the number plate hanger, etc???? Guess there's an archived tread somewhere on this all ready! Also I've heared the rumour that you can run without mirrors if the bike is for solo riding only! is this true? Will pc plum flip out even if it is??? Thanx.

Jmo will be along in a mo she is the grande fromarge de la tail chop.

I believe the running without mirrors only applies to either very very old bikes, or bikes designed primarily for offroad use.

I have no mirrors on mine!

I run it with a seat cover and single rearsets! No problems withthe MOT or the Police, mind you no mirrors would be the least of their gripes!!

You do however tend to look around more often! I look backwards on my bike a lot more, one handed turn around!!

What about a tail-chop?

Is that likely to attract the attention of pc plod?

Only for plod to point out how much nicer it looks than a tea tray!

Please excuse my husband - he has clearly had a brain melt. There's no law about mirrors, only indicators.

Chop chop! (I'm on my second JMo tail chop. Must be addicted!)

the only problem i had with the tailchop, was with my exhausts. they protruded so far, that i had to get a smaller numberplate as to not ruin the look of the sexy billet end caps! - and that got some unwanted attention from the plod, in the form of a £30 fine!

No points I hope!

Shouldn't you get 14 days (or similar) to rectify the 'problem'?

If yoiu chop your tail. and then decide later you want hi level cans. they will stick too far back and look silly.
shortened cans look out of proportion.

Poor monsters with their tails docked you are all cruel buggers ;o)

It depends which type of hi-level cans you get - the ones GT has on his bike and trike (Sils I think) are very nice and neat - the can itself sits further towards the engine and the link pipe is shorter with a more acute bend, thus not sticking out so far... it was like they were made for the chop!

Talking of which, the kits are sold out now - I will produce some more only if I can get at least 10 firm orders, as the set-up/CNC costs are very expensive.

Sorry,

When I had a new rear tyre fitted recently the mobile tyre guy used my tea tray.........as a tea tray to put the cuppa I made him on! Brilliant design, just need somewhere to put the biscuits and it'll be perfect - does anyone know of a HobNob extension for the tea tray?

The practical side of having no T-Tray is you get absolutely soaked in the rain.
By the time I got in last night from a very wet ride the only place the water had made real ingress was the back of my neck.
Nuff said. :(
