OK, we've had the Home Safe thread, the Thank You thread, and Squiffy's excellent write-up thread, but this is the "My memories of the Weekender Thread"

What will you remember from this year?

These are my memories:

Nearly setting off an hour early, 'cos I got confused (luckily Rog pointed out the time!)
Jen turning up unexpectedly on Big Pig at Reigate
Arriving at Arrow Mill (love it!)
Rod's 1098 not being happy after being rained on
Watching everyone leaving for the Saturday ride out - we've never had every single bike there go on that ride before
Waiting for Yorkie to go round every single roundabout 3 times
Being asked by a bloke on a rice burner "What's all this about then?"
Becoming "Saz International Rescue" on the M40 roundabout - damn lights!
The wonderful pub on Saturday (that was a lot of locks!)
Being "Saz International Rescue" again on the way to the karting!
Finding I'm not so crap at karting as I used to be!
Seeing the look of sheer fear on Nonnie's face on her first lap.
Some bloke called Squiffy completely ignoring the red lights at the karting
Mr Cake trying to run everyone off the track.
Seeing 120mph on my S2R on the way back to the Mill (ahem)
Fabulous Hog Roast and yummy puddings (mmm, custard)
Boozy's Quiz (and the poor couple who's evening we ruined!)
Amazing puddings at the pub on Sunday
Impromptu shopping spree at the bike shop!
Wondering why mad turnips went 50mph all the way back to the Mill (it was his bike, not him!)
Laughing so much that I cried while watching Big Red Duke trying to work out our card trick
Riding home behind Didge (I could swear that I smelled him a couple of times)
Arriving home, feeling sad that it's over for another year.

Getting up at 6 and having to pack bags hours before going.
Ready to go an hour before and sitting in leathers and back pack for 30 mins bored.
Meeting Gully and Gt full of excitement.
Having to filter on m25 and having to stop suddenly almost doing a stoppie 2 up NOT GOOD
Arriving at the roudabout to see the Arrow sign makes me smile
Going down the drive and into the courtyard and the noise
Watching all the bikes coming in is so great
The excited faces and hand shakes and hugs from everyone
Meeting in the bar and everyone talking and laughing
Newbies sitting quietly first nite and next day they are part of the crowd (Matt and Nicky)
Having to decide whether to get up and queue for dinner early NOT
That first nite in the tent will it be cold
Will I get up in time next morning with a hangover
The day trip out with loads of bikes makes me feel proud
Quiz nite will we win probs not
Will I get a mention in bike awards probs not but the suprise was a fantastic YES. Thanks
Going out for rideouts in rain makes me nervous but glad when I cope.
Sad when we get home on sunday nites as tomorrows going home day
Leaving on monday wanting a breakfast but regretting it.
Sad going a waving goodbye to mates and riding out the drive
Glad to get home but excited being able to talk about the times we had on the forum.

My memories...

Laughing a lot
Seeing all the good people in UKMOC and meeting the newbies
Seeing all the nice bikes
Seeing the wrong side of 130 coming back from the Karting - yee har!
Wondering what the rattle was coming from my bike then discovering it had eaten the rear exhaust gasket, hence the popping and banging on the overrun
Piggy roast was ace
Meeting our new International contingent - great that you made it and even better you want to come back
Realising that carrying a ventura pack and tank bag makes sod all difference to my bike, still goes like a rocket!
Turning into the drive at the mill and getting the front wheel up in 2nd in my eagerness to arrive!
Being dead proud of Jules, pillion with me last year, this year on her own bike
Realising my new Alpinestars waterproofs are!
Big thanks to Big Red Duke for the car loan - you are a gent!

And more than anything else, realising that taking on the presidency is worth every bit of my time!

Great to see everyone and look forward to seeing you all again soon

Raindrops on windows and whiskers on Didge’s
Bright red Ducati’s and warm sticky puddings
Dozens of Monsters covered in Bling
These are a few of my favourite things

Girls in tight tee shirts with badges on nipples
Farting and laughing until your eyes water
Karting in circles where Gully is King
These are a few of my favourite things

Pints of black Guiness & tasty pub lunches
The smell of Pork roasting that gives me the munchies
Happy friends faces covered in grins
These are a few of my favourite things

On the way home, when the rain falls, when I’m feeling sad
I simply remember my favourite things
and then I don’t feel so bad

I'm singing it!

That was really nice.

Mostly I remember making an arse of myself and winning trophies.

On behalf of whoever is around Nonnie at the moment, I'm hoping that the talent extends to Nonnie's singing voice.

However, I'm not optimistic... ;)

I'm going on the "X Factor" you know.

Woddy just looks at me and calls it the "Why Factor"

Great effort Gary, clearly not just a talented trike builder!
Here's mine:
Yorkie’s reaction to an exposed diamante thong
Trying (unsuccessfully) to get my head around Roger & Sazz’s slight of hand with badges & cards.
Getting a big hug from Julie
Being deafened by Boozy Bob on Saturday night
The look on the elderly woman’s face as she realised the quiz was going to go on all night
CK running her 696 sans silencers
AK attacking a chain link with a chisel in the back of the van
Boozy Bob referring to our Belgian friends as Dutch
Getting a nice bit of crackling on Saturday night
My wee not smelling after eating asparagus
The lack of ****-taking when I arrived with the bike on a trailer
Missing Dennis and his helicopter
Being given an espresso by a really foxy waitress (see first line)
Staff at Arrow Mill second to none
Sharing a nice couple of bottles of red with Roger
Having a really lazy Sunday watching sport courtesy of the rain
Nice new tarmac in the car park
Still being able to communicate with really young people (Mad Turnips & Nicky)
The visit to the national motorcycle museum – the staff were really friendly
Not winning a prize in the ‘best bike brought on a trailer category’
Having a great time despite the weather
Admiring Woddy’s handywork not just on one but two bikes
Thinking ‘I must do this next year’
And much, much more.
