Right, now we're a week away, I think it's safe to start talking about the weather.

The forecast as it stands today (from Metcheck) is as follows:

Friday - 16 degrees - dry

Saturday - 15 degrees - dry

Sunday - 14 degrees - dry and sunny!

Monday - 14 degrees - dry

Bring it on!

I'll update this daily.

Yours, M Fish

Differs a bit here!

Mind you a met mans job must be so easy! Nobody expects you to be right, so you could just make the whole thing up!!

The weather channel always lies in my experience! Metcheck tends to be the most accurate.

Also, that says 30% chance of rain on Saturday - those odds sounds pretty good to me!

I like those odds!

Can't we bring in a spiritual man to do some kind of sun dance. Bloody well better not rain - don't fancy the idea of setting up my tent in it.

Scaremongering...

Latest weather from Metcheck:

I'm happy with that!

These stories always come out just before a Bank Holiday. Now, I'm not suggesting that this is to discourage people travelling, but...............!??

I, for one, am looking forward to my first weekender.

See you Friday

It's a Bank Holiday weekend - what do you think will happen?

If you are not sure then type 'met office' into Google - follow the link and in my experience you will have the most accurate prediction that you will find anywhere. The prediction is that it will be unpredictable, so take your waterproofs!

I had planned a weekend out on the bike, but might have to revert to plan B at the last minute.

Let's all get our passports and head for the Stelvio pass.

I'm sure it will be fine for the weekend - I will be saying this over and over until I finally have to get on my bike with the proofs on.

Waterproofs pah what are they. Just stick yer leathers on and if they get wet they will dry out later a bit stiff which will hold you up in the bar.

Ok a bit damp and smelly which is why you pack a spare pair of smalls for the weekend. Put it this way you are not going to be as smelly as those in the pole room boys dorm or the room next to/above/below Uncle Didge :didge:

I would like to pop for a day by riding from London. When would be the best day to stop by?

Also will Mario and the Belgian crew be there all weekend?

Ta!

Get there early Sunday morning and have your bike in the competition, vote for other bikes, go on the National Rideout and have lunch, see if you won a forum award, so Sunday is the best day!

I think we all need seaweed rather than the weather channel - personally i think I might just head to the sea side tomorrow to pick some up!!! (and ice cream and chips perhaps too)

Oh poo, i'm fed up of getting wet and trying to travel the country. Shirl said she'd take the car if it was going to be anything like last year, and i'd be tempted to join her. I'll be keeping a close eye on it.

What Arrow Mill curse FFS?!
We had a wet weekend last year, the year before we all got sunburnt and were so hot you couldn't get your leathers off fast enough after rideouts!

Since everyone is predicting vastly differing weather over the weekend,
the only iron clad answer is hindsight (which is always 20/20)

Personally I'll be glad just to be away from work and out on my bike for four days whether I get soaked or sunburnt.

Hear hear, slob.

The fact that metcheck says rain, weather channel says dry, and bbc says showers, means that we just don't know!

I reckon we might get the odd shower, but it's not going to be a wash out like last year.

As long as I get out on my bike, I don't really care that much!

Some UK weather statistics for ya.

These are UK averages - so will vary from region to region. Our lovely East Angular tends to be the driest - Hurrah!

I seem to remember that in 2006 the Sunday rideout/lunch al fresco was bloody cold, Dennis's BMW was showing 7 degrees and it pissed down on the way home on Monday.

Me neither but I really wouldn't want to live anywhere else. :)
