I'm in the process of upgrading my s2r 800 and want to start with the exhausts but I'm on a budget. Does anyone know if I could get a full system but in stages? e.g. fit a cat bypass pipe to start with then some slip on Termi's (just the cans), then later performance improvements like air filter, etc. I want it to look good asap and then make it perform better when I have the cash

Replace the cat first, it'll look so much better and will give you a nicer exhaust note.

Yeh I think so too, I think I found somewhere that sell catt bypass pipes for £165.

Do you know what is included in a full system? If I buy the slip on cans on there own at a later date, can I just attatch them to the cat bypass pipe and and have a full system?

A full system is just that, from the header to the endcan.
On a roadbike like this I doubt you'll feel much benefit over the OE headers, bypass pipe and seperate endcans.
