Fuel Tanklevel sender NON Ducati?????

I need a new fuel tank level sensor sender for my Monster 750 thr standard Ducati replacement is £50 from Ducati dealer , will any car ones fit as they can be had for £15,

No a car one wont fit, as the way it fits in the tank will be different.
