Hi, Does anyone know what the resistance should be on the little electric heater gizmos in the carbs of my monster. Had carb icing problems when I was out last weekend (was cold with some sleet) but it has not missed a beat since. Have checked and there is 12v to both sides of the carbs but I have no idea what the resistance should be. I have bought Pro FST as well to be on the safe side.
Thanks

I thought the monster carb heaters were all oil fed.

I don't know what the resistance should be but it is unlikely that they would both fail so I would compare one to the other. Heater elements will usually fail either open circuit or short circuit. A short will obviously cause a fuse to blow and you have already checked that 12V is supplied to them so if one has failed then it is likely to be open circuit.

Some of the later bike had little electric jobbies instead of the old oil type
