oil in airbox

Is it normal to have a smear of oil in the bottom of the airbox on a 600 Monster?

yup , the engine breather goes into the air box.

Thanks for the reply gremlin,
I am used to jap bikes where nothing comes out of the breather,
on the other hand i work on Lotus cars where everything comes through the breather.But you probably know all about them comming from Norwich.

we live in the shadow of the lotus factory, one of my bestist mates is an engine designer tech-y sort of geezer there, sitting in the garden on a summers day, listening to the sound of their prototypes screaming around their track can be pretty awesome. their bike sounds superb...... oppps, thats sposed to be a secret, me and my big mouth :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle: as does some of the v10's they have been testing lately
