Right, as i'm not a fan of the standard white (or strangely enough anything standard ha ha) I'm having the wheels powder coated when i get the tyres changed and it's booked in for the 15th - this sat so opinions quickly please - pics below....what do we think will look best???

bear in mind the yokes, swing arm, rear sets and stand are about to be powder coated satin black and there's a v.good chance the exhaust is about to go black through the power of ceramic caoting too....

so opinions at the ready............

thanks

be careful with the red. I wish I had done so now. The red MAY NOT match as mine has an orange tinge. Dont get me wrong I love the colour but I now have to change the colour of the tank.

If I'm honest I'm leaning towards a deep gloss black with red pinstripe....we'll have to see - keep the opinions coming....it could be to the vote!

Sounds good - although you could go matt black with the gloss red pinstripe to emphasize the existing red gloss on the chasis etc.

Decisions, decisions, decisions

Satin black with red pinstripe.

Is a VERY good suggestion!

Having had quite a number of different coloured wheels on the monsters in the last 6+ years - white, black, red, green, orange, std silver, std gold, std bronze, even fluor colours too, all with/without pin-striping, we both would recco black

Mmmm, I'm liking those satin black wheels with red pinstripe - with a red swing arm to match the frame (eh, Albie!)!

Either, black-possibly with the red pinstripe(like mine:D ) or....

Silver, to match the engine and other cycle parts;)

....while your at it, prize off that chrome headlight ring and get that done black too.:D

Satin black every time.
Pinstipe only if properly painted, no cheap 'n' chavvy rim tape that doesn't quite join straight.

Satin black with red pinstripe sounds good but I also think it looks damn nice with the white wheels

Erm dont bring my c0ck up into the equasion I still like it its just not what I thought. I took a risk dont you too.

I also thought I might like to change the tank colour but not straight away. When you see them both together they arn't as bad as I make out but they are not right.

If its powdercoat did they ask you to look at RAL colour chart on the internet.

Dont choose 3020 traffic red. Now I look at it I see it. Maybe should have gone ruby red or signal red. Now Im pi55ed 0ff LOL

That's crazy Albie, different graphics card or monitor settings could make a vast difference, you had almost no chance of guestimating the end result.

Even using a calibrated monitor doesn't help, the swatches aren't even a uniform colour with awful banding and compression artefacts as they've soooo cleverly used bog standard dumb jpgs.
They do like nicer on my old Sony CRT than my Eizo's but it varies just a tad depending on which profile I'm using, print (available in pre-press, Inkjet, generic laser and phase change profiles) or web (generic PC and generic mac profiles) plus a few other general purpose. Also we have DICOM part 14 on the Eizo's but thats just for medical imaging. And yes properly calibrated with a lovely Verilum puck.

I think you'd be doomed to failure trying to match anything with them other than a general red green or blue and a wild ass guesstimate at the actual colour.

Oh The fuel cap looks ace Markus and I'd like bronze, not as gaudy as gold but nice... Common sense though says black

satin black for me,but don't go overboard with red or black - keep it balanced.

And no pinstripe - you'll look like you've been spending too much time on ebay :D

Gloss black, no pin stripe

Seconded.

You've already got a chequer on the tank, so pinstripes will tend to look fussy with it. :spin:

I saw the actual colourcard when I got there. I hadn't 100% decided on colour until I had viewed the real deal as such. I compared it to the headlamp inner shroud and it looked ok. Maybe I was just excited in it being done.

Don't panic as I have now got the colour sorted and Im not p155ed off now    . Looks good on photo shop.;)

There're good pictures of the 1993 Prototype Monster and 1993 Monster in the 'Cult' section of the 696 pages that fatbloke posted. :spin: :spin:
