I use the Denso Iridium in the monster, same thing different brand.
The only noticable difference is at the top end, where it feels like it's a lot less willing to drop down the power curve if that makes any sense?
Plugs have a firing success rate, i.e. occassionally they fail to ignite the charge. The iridium plugs apparently have a much better rate than the ordinary copper core.
No idea what their life span is like, mine get changed at the start of the season as a matter of maintenance rather than need.

I find they last a lot longer than standard NGK - or is it just my bike that seems to eat plugs?

Life?
My Iridiums have been on the thou since its first 600 mile service in Feb 2004.
AK's tricolour about the same time, both bikes done about 11 - 15,000 miles on them so far.
Race bikes have just had theirs changed & one bike has done 2.5 full seasons, the other was still on the NGK's std that it came with last year so AK changed them as a matter of course for the race bikes.
The Lawson is stil on the 1999 platinum plugs - and AK checked these only 2 weeks ago & all was fine.

My (smart) car has the iridiums & they have been there since just after I got it in Jan 2005 & its done over 25 thousand miles on them & AK assures me they are fine for another 15 thou yet (and they were checked at the last full service in Nov & all well there)

Good all-rounders those plugs

Changed mine last week (original Champion), may be it is the placebo effect... the bike feels "crisper" than before :mand: ... its a M620
