Hi all

just sorting my trailer out for a trip and was wondering is it a legal requirement to have mudguards fitted?

I've got some but have never been fitted but then it dawned on me I might have to have them?

If so I'll be whittling some brackets over the weekend.

Cheers
Stuart

I don't think they are but if it's wet the tyres might cause a lot of spray and mudguards would also protect the bike from any flying stones & debris kicked up off the road. I would fit some if I were you.

See I thought trailers wheel are required to be covered with a guard.

I'd still have some on anyway to stop crap being dumped all over the bike.

I thought you had to have rotating wheels covered? I might be wrong, but if 'm not a PcP would take a dim view.

Thanks all

By the sounds of it is better to err on the side of caution so will bodge, sorry, engineer some brackets over the weekend.
