View Full Version : Tail chop and high level pipes

I've had a JMO tail chop kit on a previous Monster 620. Quite like the idea of doing it to my Monster S4. Things is, I have the high level Termi's either side of the seat cowl.

If I chop the tail off, will it end up looking like a wheelbarrow?

Can anyone post any pictures of this having been done?

Thanks

Tom

It is possible to cut the pipes back. I did it on my S2R.

Thank you, that's an impressively tidy job. Keen to avoid chopping pipes though. Anyone got any pics of the early monnies with high pipes and a tail chop?

Thanks,

T

I haven't had my tail chopped, but my high level Ducati Performance cans did stick out far too much, so had a friend lob 4" out of them! They also fouled the indicators. The picture in my Avitar shows how they looked before-hand. I will try getting a recent picture on here.

oh the torment, since i (unwisely) chopped my tail a few years ago and countless attempts to blend the rear end with number plate so as to avoid wheelbarrow effect (and loosing countless (well 2) number plates in the process)

I have just recently chopped down my silencers to match the tail length (I still havent riveted them together again)

and now I'm doing frame repairs I was contemplating having tail welded back on , this would be extra useful for attaching the challenge seat cowl since it bolts onto the tea tray , and I'll be left with stubby look silencers

Here are my Cans, shortened to look better and clear the indicators.

I'll be able to add a wheelbarrow pic next week  as I'm chopping and revising the lighting with one of the clear solutions combination tail light boards and a rather splendid led plate light.
Also plan to be taking a few inches off of the high level arrows at some point to finish off the job, if the kitchen goes well might get done at the same time before the diamond cutter blades all get worn out by the tiles :worried:

Someone'll know better than me but JMO is a user on this website. She was selling the kits, maybe it was a one off run. It was a great kit though.

My wheelbarrow,

I'm going to cut the Termis eventually, I'm just scared of the noise they're going to make!
