I want to paint my monster but not sure on a colour, I want something that will live up to its nickname "pepperami...cos its a bit of an animal!" something completely in your face, something absolutley mental! but cant think what!

Pink's been done already, black and red fur too.
Ghost chrome looks nice but the colours might not be bright enough.
SpectraFX is a cool chameleon paint, possible choice and would work well with the tanks shape.
ALSA do a nice paint called Xposures http://www.alsacorp.com/products/xposurepaint/xposurepaint_show.htm

Mine is painted in Rage Chromaflare (blue to purple flip). I am just about to redo it in Tetrosyl Demon (green to purple flip). I think the flips work well on Monsters, especially against the gold of the frame and with the ally forks etc. My other favourite is Lime Green, an old Porsche colour, and I will do a second tank and panel set in this colour.

It's all in the preparation!

With practice you can get a pretty good finish at home as long as you are prepared to put in the work.

My Jeep type kitcar in my garage with the primer on

and the finished car.

you could do a variation of this:

substituting slices of peperami for the clocks? Beyond me tho. This is about my limit:

I've been to the paintshop today and chosen my colours for Juans cakeover, sorry makeover!

Maybe find one who will talk to you about your choices and show you what they look like? They have charts and everything and all sorts of sparkly things.

Using a pro is cheap, dearest part of my job is buying the paint. I'll tackle most things but wouldn't bother trying to get a pro paint finish myself - that is well worth paying for. Iffy paint spoils the look of everything else, so is a false economy in my opinion.

i did my tank in 2 pack black.
got a decent finish, considering it was my first, in a cold, damp, dusty garage...
(ok, there was a few bits i missed...because the lighting in the garage was also bad)
if you like DIY, and have plenty of time, give it a go.

My neighbours bike is bright orange. His wife still managed to reverse in to it though.

My neighbours bike is bright orange. His wife still managed to reverse in to it though.I've got an orange vehicle, great colour and would look ace on a 900 Dark - just paint the tank and leave the rest black/carbon. I nearly went that route and it's still something I might do for my next bike.

The flames work well on a monnie, my mate Lou has them on hers. Just a bit curious what you'd put on the vehicle reg form if you use Xposures, it's blue, purple, black, brown, green or all of the above. Could be good in speed camera pics though as long as it's a different temp when you dispute it!
