View Full Version : How do you remove front wheel bearings

Need to get them so wheels can be powder coated. Any clues. Tried a bit of heat on wheel. Hmmmm:banghead:

You need to drift them out from the other side - the spacer between the bearings should have a small cut-out so you can get a tool in to knock them out. Heating the wheel a little will help

AK has made a special 'tool' to knock them out from an old screwdriver, cut & shaped at the end - and NO, you cant borrow it at the mo, as he has another 5 sets of w/bearings to do yet :p

A suitable sized drift (big bit of metal). Kernock and rotate round a bit kerrrnockkk round a bit more. Suckers will fall out in the end :D

I saw that little nick. I will try harder and No ck its too far. Will persevere as I have a week.
BTW I ot one exhaust stud out one more to go but looks like a drill soon.

No big hammer just a 1lb and a screwdriver ground with a little tab to hook in the little cutaway in inner bush. Worked a treat AK/CK
All done now ready to send away for powder coat.
