Iam in the process of fitting a Monster front end [gorgeous] to a Honda. I need a little advice regarding the headlight frame. I can see where it locates at the bottom, but am not sure what is needed to fix the top. Is it a bolt thru the top yoke? does it need to be rubber mounted?? Have looked at lots of microfiches but cant find any mention.

Many thanks, Dunk...........

It bolts onto the front of the lower yoke through the bracket at the base, and is secured by roll pins into the underside of the top yoke.

There should be a couple of nylon type bushes mounted firmly in the tops of the headlight bracket tubes.

Said bushes push over the roll pins sticking out of the top yoke, then the bottom of the bracket bolts to the bottom yoke...

I don't think you can buy the bushes from Ducati, but you could spin some up on a lathe with little effort.

Carefull guys, depends on the model of Monster

On the earlier Monsters there are no roll pins, the headlight bracket is held in place by bolts that screw through from above.

The bottom part of the bolt is turned down to give a smooth finish to slide into the nylon bushes in the top of the bracket.

I have managed it, with some 7mm roll pins and some plastic inserts in the top of the frame bracket. I could have used some bolts turned down to fit into the inserts[as per crusts suggestion] but dont have a lathe, so opted for the easier solution.
Thanks everyone for your kind advice.
My next bikes gonna be a Monster.

I have read your posting and am wondering if you could tell me where you were able to find 7mm roll pins.
I have been searching for some time now and have been unsuccessful.
Thanks,

It doesn't look like 7mm ones are readily available - maybe that was a mistype in Dunc's post.

If you're looking for replacement roll pins for the Monster Top clamp, they are 6mm, of which there are loads on ebay etc.
