Thought that some of you may be interested to read about the benefit show I am involved in thats happening on March 9th, here in San Francisco.

The daughter of my car clubs President is named Scarlett (yeah, like O'Hara in Gone with the wind) and she suffers from a very rare disease called Rett Syndrome (http://www.ninds.nih.gov/disorders/rett/detail_rett.htm#106103277)

She cannot walk, talk or feed or look after herself, but she has a character all her own, everyone who meets her falls under her spell.

Anyway, we have organized a benefit show in San Francisco to help pay for her special needs. The US Health System is not like the UK one, everyone here has to pay, and without insurance, the costs are stupid (Scarlett has insurance, but it doesn't cover 100% of the costs).

We have called folk from all over the world to donate stuff for the Art show & auction, last year we raised over $16,000 on the day, with another $10,000 coming from other donations in the weeks following the event.

You can keep up with Scarlett on her MySpace Page (http://www.myspace.com/missscarlett13)

Last weekend she was at the San Francisco Rod & Custom show, her Hot Rod wheelchair won a special trophy, and it was presented to her by James Hetfield from Metallica... Nice guy, no "Rock Star" BS.

Thank you for reading, and if you would like to donate a few $$$, please do...specially with the exchange rate the way it is!! Details on her page as listed above.

The Chair......The rear fenders are hand formed steel, the front 'axle' was removed, drilled & chromed (like an old hot rod) before being refitted, the seat is metalflake material, and since the shifter was fitted, Scarlett actually reaches for it, which is something that she had not done before.

Not at all....The event isn't till March 9th, and Scarlett needs full time care, so donations are welcome anytime.

If you use Paypal, please send money in $'s (there's an option to choose currency)

Thank you.
