About to refit the front sprocket onto my wife's bike but I cannot remember if the shouldered part faces in or out, since I removed it weeks ago during the strip down.
I do vaguely seem to remember it being that the "flat side" of the sprocket that faces you and the stepped part faces the engine. Reason I ask is that the workshop manual seems to show it around the other way. Just want to be sure that's all. Can anyone confirm the orientation for me.

Depends on which year the 600 is - one goes one way & the other has it the other way! (pre 98 or 98 on)
Pop it on & see if it lines up with the chain on the rear sprocket, you should be able to see straight away if it lines up as the step is quite deep.

Woddy! You assured me you knew how my bike went back together again.
You've been a naughty boy.
Get to my room.
Its a 620ie (03 I think) the shoulder goes outwards.

Woddy - personally I think the bike in bits is a good look - at least the footrests aren't hanging off like Franks!!!
