Battery Again??? Electical fault??

Too late for my Christmas list, but....

Bought a new Varta battery at the beginning of the year and over the latter few months, been connected to the optimate. Seemingly no issues until......

Pottering around in the garage and I noticed the battery was showing 'weak'. Last time this happened, the battery was knackered:Furious: .........

Has anyone else had the same problems/symptoms? Bike's fitted with a Meta alarm which goes into sleep mode.

Appreciate any ideas or thoughts on troubleshooting.....................

Happy New Year to everyone!!

Following an afternoon with my multimeter and workshop manual, it appears the pins on the optimate permanent lead fitted to the bike doesn't make a clean connection and can create a fault condition. Luckily the battery is ok - phew - I just need a new permanent lead.....
