Hi all..

I am looking for a small bag for my 695 to carry small items like keys, phone MP3 Player etc.
I normally take a backpack out with me but wondered if there is an alternative that I can fit to the bike.

I dont want anything that will obscure the dials and obviously cant be magnetic due to the plastic tank.

Its either that or I get a bum bag which would be a second choice..

Cheers for now..

I use an Oakley rucksack - tiny thing - or a bum bag. Less tempting for chavs.

ever since I left rucksack at a petrol station with all my worldly possessions in once, everything now goes in my pockets

could be tempted with a bum-bag type thing if it would take a visor in it

How about this small tank bag, it's on a MS I know, but they do fittings for the Monster as well as a bigger tank bag as well.

LoL....saw the Thomas the Tank engine bags as well...was tempted, but..

Thanks for the other links. Not sure if it is what I want. I think I would prefer something that I can just clip on and not have to worry about a seperate mount.
Have just been looking at small handlebar bags for Cycles which may fit the bill.

Just gonna go have a look at Bum bags...

Cheers

I dont know if it helps but check out some camera bags as they come in lots of sizes and most have belt clips and straps. Look in Jessops, argos etc:thumbsup:

I am a bum... I use a carrier bag and some baler twine... instant bum bag... :freak:

I have lots of pockets so most everything disappears somewhere on my person, got a small heavily padded rucksack in team Ikea colours (cheaper than a cheap thing too) for bigger lumpy things.

you can get HIP PACKS that hold 2 water bottles and a days waterproof gear for hill walkers, i use ONE, (without the waterbottles), holds my wet gear and mobile! PLUS HIP PACK SOUNDS BETTER THAN BUM BAG!!

I use a mini Oxford tank bag when off on a long journey - mine's a plastic tank too - I found some flat bungee straps that don't have hooks but loops and they have those press clips to undo them. So I fasten one half to the frame under the seat and the other half to the bag. When stoppng its quite neat, just need to undo press clips.

There is a new system out there, which has a base that stays on the bike and then the bag either zips to or velcros to that. If I remember what its called before you find it, I'll post it.

I have a ventura rig attached to the bike all the time so most of the time, I use the sports bag on sports rack - a bit overkill if you're not going to use the full luggage though!

Thanks all..

Couple of items there that look to be what I want.
Suppose I will have to wait until after crimbo now but doubt if I will be out on the bike till then anyway apart from taking it for a service..

Thanks again

G

PS. Hip Bag does sound better

For long journey's that might include a visor change I use the Oxford visor bum bag, loads of space and well made.

For shorter blasts, I strap on a DUCATI MECCANICA bum bag, big enough to fit keys, phone etec.

I've just ordered a "Tank Locker Commuter Bag" From Luggagelocker.com It fits onto the gas cap & is about 10" X 13" & 2" tall with pockets for phone, glasses & so on. I'll post if it lives up to my expectations.
