This weekend we were mostly doing this

http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l103/squiffything/elves.jpg

It's the annual decorate the tree fest. Sarah and I decided to get our first tree together and following the usual trend on went the christmas hats and the decorating began. We ended up with this:

Now it feels like christmas is on its way

This is our effort this year.

Ooooh that was biiiiiig. Our Christmas tree has stuff on it that go back years. I can tell you pretty much where everything on it came from and how it came to be on our tree.

Or you could look at it and think "Blimey, they just chuck everything Christmassy on that tree"

Ooooooooooooooooo a xmas tree thread! :mand:

Both squiffy and Nonnies pictures could be on a xmas card! I love the cat snoozing in Squiffys one!

Well heres mine. I *was* doing xmas on a budget, so the tree was £15 but that all went wrong when I spent nearly £100 on decorations

Heres my unique tree :p

The monster tree decoration is possibly the best christmas decoration I have ever seen!

The snow tiger is random but cool (Although you tend to go off snow tigers when you've picked up their poo like I've done a few times)!

hehehehehe, I had consumed *some* wine when I decorated the tree :dizzy:

Cool, I'll pick up snow tiger poo if I can cuddle one! :D

Don't know about cuddle, but you would be welcome to hand feed her.

I volunteer at the Wildlife Heritage Foundation in Kent (Although not been down for a while now :( ), they do Big Cat Encounters and Rangers for a Day... they only have the one snow tiger, but they have a lot of other big cats, tigers, lions, snow leopards, leopards, a cheetah etc...

Let me know if you want details.

Thumper, that's a real pretty tree, very unusual and very beautiful!

Loving the lava lamp as well.

I haven't bought any yet either! They're from family we probably won't see before Christmas but saw last week. The temptation to open the ones marked Nonnie is almost intolerable let me assure you.

I'd love a telly like Squiffys.

Jeez... I can hear the trees creaking under the weight of those decorations. Mind you I can also hear squiffy's floor creaking under the weight of that plasma screen! ;)

Cracking trees everybody and Nonnie I know what you mean about the decorations the girls have some on the tree that are years old that they made when they were little tots. Peg Santa and Angels a bauble from when the youngest had her first christmas, my Pinky and the Brain decorations etc. As its a new tree they got to pick a new decoration to go on the tree Charlie the youngest picked a blue snowflake that is the size of a plate!

As for the telly it was our pressie to each other last year and really was only got so we could play the Wii on it. The Cottage has now sold so could be this year we get a Playstation 3 to see how that looks. PS don't tell Sarah it's a suprise for her ahem

Don't you just love peg Santas? We have a reindeer made out of lollipop sticks!

The kids can choose a new decoration every year I reckon in the not too distant future, the tree may collapse under the weight.

Good luck with the present buying!

Here's our little Christmas tree contribution. Shame the fibre optics don't show in the photo, as it looks really pretty in the real world.
As the power pack cannot be found, I made a few mods, and the optics are now powered with a motorcycle battery, so in affect,it is the most genuine 'bikers tree' here.

Cool, I have bits on my tree from my first home, and try to buy just one new thing each year. Each year I break some baubles because they are so fragile so I have an excuse to get a new one each year. The ferrets broke some trying to nick the chocolate last year bless them! I have some wooden rocking horses which I love and little wooden soldiers that Lucy chose years ago which always gone on. It's silly but Lucy really got the hump last year because she didn't do the tree with me but she has her own house and her own tree now!
We go to see Father Christmas at Ashwellthorpe on Christma Eve every year whether we have kids or not. I went the first time when I was two and I think I've only missed two visits since. It's magical, the local landowner has a pony and cart all decked out like a sleigh with fairy lights and bells and he goes around the villages handing out chocolate bars to the kids. And yes I know I'm sad but I don't care! Don't know how old your kids are Nonnie but if you are at a loose end one year try it out. He goes to the Kings Head so you can have a bevvy or two whle you wait!

You're on! We looked at a house there, the old Methodist chapel but Rod said No.
Nothing wrong with going to see Father Christmas. I helped him out on Saturday at the school Christmas Fair. There's no other job I would rather do as it's magnificent listening in on all the kids conversations. My favourite one from last year...

"Hello Father Christmas"
"Hello"
"First of all I'd like to thank you for the toy drum kit you brought me last year"
"You're very welcome, have you thought about what you might like this year?"
"Yes, I'd like a real one please if it's possible but I must ask you a question first"
"Go on"
"How do you get down from the sky to get the presents on to the roof?"
"Magic moonbeams"
"Oh, right! How does that work then?"
"Well, you know when you look at the moon at night and see the light shining down, sometimes it looks like lines?"
"Yes, I've seen that"
"That's moonbeams and I can use magic to slide down them and deliver your presents to you"
"Wow, that's amazing"

Then there was the usual chat about whether the child had been good etc and at the end the kid just stood up and shook Father Christmas's hand and said "Thanks very much for seeing me, I'll leave you a present too"

It was absolutely lovely and a real priviledge to have heard that and the next one in was a little late because both Father Christmas and I had to wipe away a tear!

I put my small tree up last night. Squiffy I thought you'd been out and bought a TV instead of a tree - I think I've lost the plot. Nice trees though everyone and where did you get that cat fur from Thumper? The bike is amazing :mand:

I've just spent all morning wrapping pressies, so I thought I'd join in the fun!

Willow looking miserable "Where's my present?"

http://www.rogandsaz.co.uk/Xmas1.jpg

Willow with the hat that Rog bought her. My hand is holding her head up to stop her rolling on the floor to get it off! Animal cruelty, I know.
