Did just over 7,000 on Pinky in 6 months.

Currently at 600 miles on DaffyDuc in a month (1 week off for having burd flu) :gay:

I only have the bike, no cushty car so it gets ridden a lot and the miles rack up quickly for me.

Pinky cost me an arm and a leg. Already had to put new tyres on the S4 and rear brake pads. Very very soon will be C&S kit and quite possibly fork seals. I think I will spend more money on Autoglym products to keep it clean though :look:

reason i have asked is currently we have a workhorse bandit its done 30000 since may cost very little (i do all my own servicing ) could a monster deal with this?

My 52 plate monster has 22000 on the clock and no problems (still got 1st clutch) only service gap servicing...
had a early gsxr750 with the same lump as a bandit and was still going strong when sold 4yrs ago with 50,000 on the clock, thrashed and not serviced often and never let me down.. a brill engine solid as they come...oil cooled lumps seem good...

'02 plate 32K so far(including 15 odd trackdays) if I add the old clock and new clock together
(it was a year old with 1300 on when I bought it)
It's having a wee break this Winter, while I sort out a spot of track damage.

Oops should have said, apart from too many 'enhancements' to list here:
-I wore out the standard front disc (lots of fast two up riding/sintered pads).
-Changed the standard chain and sprockets at 7.5K, just done that again.
-Replaced clutch plates at 7.5K (a few '02 620 owners have reported this problem)
-Changed weeping rear cylinder base gasket at 25K.
-Clocks changed under warranty.
-Apart from that just cleaned weekly-ish and serviced regularly.

I suspect Duncan wins fairly easily though.

My 600 has 34K on the clock. Once I got her sorted after buying her 3 years ago she has been very reliable. A service every 6000, an oil change every 3000. A scottoiler. She has become quite economical. I use her on the track and for commuting. I think they need to be used and the harder the better.;)

22.5k - 55 plate. She's a workhorse.

Plenty of money spent on her but that's mainly been servicing and the usual cosmetic changes.

IMO Ducatis like to be ridden regularly and mine has only had minor issues in the 2 years which I've owned her (punctures, rear light and breather leaking oil), so yeah I reckon Monsters are up to it.

I think Duncan wins this on 50K something

mines on a paltry 30K

it leans against the wall (or the guzzi) in the garage, gets taken out from time to time and caned.

this summer it got an oil and belt change then taken to Italy and back, still had Italian flies on it when it got taken out last weekend and hammered to a mates and back

here it is relaxing on holiday

yeah the monster will handle it nee bother, if your looking for a cheap to run workhorse you want one of the two valve motors, and as people say they do actually like to be used

my current thoughts are to avoid a carbed one if your useing it in winter (carb icing is driving me insane at the moment)

Crust are you using a tree as a garage?? That would work round my way nicely.

Regular 1000 miles a month and running brilliantly in all weather and conditions.

Not quite 3 years old with 24.000miles. sevice rarely, oil change 3.000miles last valve check was 16.000 miles ago, I do my own work mainly. repalaced fuel filter at 3,000 miles and tires a 13,500 a small electrical component failed on a run and I replaced it with a $7 part from an auto shop. My fuel gauge failed on a ride at something just over 240miles and I was in for a push. Clutch ,chain and all else seem to be fine. Overall a damn fine bike!!!

Just thought I'd remind myself what bike I have....

Bought with aprox 36000 miles on the clock on the 23rd December 2006. So far, I've managed to get another 14,000 miles (ish) out of her this year. Belt & valves to be done in January.

Then again, I've spent nearly £3000 on bits and pieces on her. New clutch (x2, spare one still in the garage!), 2 sets of tyres, chain and sprockets, oil changes every 5000 miles, sparkies every oil change, oil filter, air filter, new cans, new headstock & rear wheel bearings, new gear selector, new clutch master cylinder, new oil cooler hoses, seat cowl, a couple of bearings in the engine somewhere, new clocks and carbon surround and a few other little bits (including some bodge stuff from my old Blandits electrics!).

The old Monster is used every work day for the 25 mile trip back and forth to work (hour and half to two hours in the car, about 35 minutes on the bike!) and then the journey to Chelsea at the weekends. Possible trip to Bologna next year, depending if I buy another unreliable Italian piece of engineering known as a GTV....

Hi there,
My 2000 M750 now has 40000 on the clock! Runs like a bird (touch wood)
Regular oil changes, annual service, irregular pressure wash, occasional polish!
Japanese reliability? sod 'em go Italian, at least it sounds like a bike, not a sewing machine!

Well said that man. My 600 sounds far more raunchy than tother halfs Fazer thou and she gets more people looking at her even though she's a bit ratty at the mo.
