Ducati UK has released the retail prices for the 848, 1098R and Monster 696, ahead of their UK debuts at the International Motorcycle and Scooter Show at the NEC in Birmingham this week.

Finally, the Monster 696... is available in April 2008, priced at £5,500 on the road.

Just beat me to it.
I reckon the 696 could be priced at £500 too much!
I was in my local dealer (George White) and they are putting out Kawasaki 750S brand new this years model at £3,999.
I know you have to factor in the season and that it is not a Ducati, but
surely they are going to have to be competetive with the land of the rising sun with this model.

£9.5k for the 848...dammit. its going to lots of tears intermingled with crazy laughter for me at the NEC.

I think the 848 is a ridiculous price considering they describe it as "entry level", I know its a lot of bike but I still think its overpriced for the market. I doubt it will stop people buying it though... but white!! Just looks like a bike with trackday plastics on it

696 seems fair, its about oooooo 250% more exotic than a 750S and with the lowered weight and seat height they can afford to price them a bit higher than the rest as the bike will appeal to such a wide market of riders.

I think £5500 seems a bit high for the 696, perhaps this is so that dealers are able to give 'bargain' discounts.

Who pays list price anyway.

When the S2R1000 came out I knocked £300 off straight away if they wanted me to buy it.

When I needed to replace it after its total loss crash a year later I was offered new ones then at £6500, even now I believe the S2R1000 is going as low as £6300 for a hard sale.

I think give it a couple of months after they are released and it could be a buyers market, specially with all the doom and gloom in the economy I think some dealers are going to be glad to get money from people.

slightly off topic, but KTM 950SM are being punted out at 6500 with 3% interest. One guy I spoke to offered the first service thrown in - an extra £300.

They're putting the 990 injected engine in for '08 and KTM are dumping stock.
