Yes, here in East Yorkshire as well! I might get out for the odd run if conditions permit, more for the engine's benefit than mine though.
I bloody hate winter, and the poxy Christmas ads have started on the TV. Bah! Humbug! Wish I could hibernate!

OK, Any tips for the hardened commuter??? I'll be using mine on the all but very horrible days - is there anything I can do to protect my bike apart from not ride it?

AC-50! Ride my bike every day bar ice and snow (god I'm hard). People still say it looks brand new. Think they're being kind, but it's great stuff.

About £12 from Busters or other reputable retailers. If not try your local mechanic at Heathrow - use it on planes etc etc.

FS365 Scottoiler Protector. I am sure that is the code for it. I would look in my garage but I am posting from my office. :D

Good stuff.

Is it like Brut 33 - Do I just splash it on all over?

I guess the good thing about winter is all the people putting their bikes in the garage with hotwater bottles makes more space in the bike park for me!

I'm a mere 36! But my guilty pleasure is a bit of 33 - the mrs loves it! When I hit 40 I'll crack open the old spice and before you ask, I'm not talking about Geri Haliwell!

Ahh. That'll be the one.

Lucati, if you go with the ACF-50 make sure you run the engine for a while afterwards otherwise you'll be riding down the road with one hell of a smoke trail.

I ride all year and use ac35 is it?? God I'm useless, it's in a reddy tin in the garage but ensuring you at least hose the bike down regularly to wash the salt off will help. I must be well hard just like headhunter :)

Well for the first time since i have bought my Duke i am taking it off the road for winter :( :(

But only because i think its in need of some serious TLC

New paint Job (Any one send me photo`s or the Airways Ducati Livery in the Green / Black combo :ukm: )
Engine strip clean repaint maybe cam mods
New Braided hoses all round
New Cooling hoses
Radial Master brake cylinder brake refurbishment
Fork reworking for my new lighter body :eyepopping: and Nitride coating for that extra bling

And the fitting of a 999 Swing Arm Shock brakes etc

Should keep me going till spring but i will still be out on the UKMOX alternative biking transport the DRZ  to work every day

Winter? On Anglesey? I thought it was sub-tropical all year round due to the gulf stream!

Thank you hardened riders one and all! I have bought a can of ACF-50 - thanks for the confirmation and link G!

I reckon there should be some winter ride outs for us all year round riders!

Well it does have a weather system all of its own  I think we are suffering global cooling at the moment

Current temp on roof of house is 2deg C and id say wind chill its even lower

What were you doing on the roof in the dark??

claicerrig
14-11-2007, 04:54 PM
We have Solar panels on the roof and they have thermocouples which are linked to a unit in the airing cupboard which tells the temperature
