Just finished watching top gear - and our bike loving(!!) friend clarkson made a (probably knknown) gesture towards our beloved marque...

Anyone notice why ??!!

I did find it odd that the most obvious option for the cross London challenge ie a powered 2 wheeler was ignored, especially when you consider both May & Hammond ride. Perhaps Clarkson knew that a bike would win too easily & didn't want that as a result!

a scooter wouldve done the business, let alone a bigger bike, like say, a monster (!)

It did highlight the thug behaviour of cyclists going through red lights etc. It was a pity Hammy wasn't on his bike but I guess the PC brigade wouldn't allow it. But it did show two wheels are better than four just unfortunate they weren't powered. Hammy would have really wiped the floor with them all with engine power too, still he didn't do badly bless him. At least a biker won!

i'll have a go at jeremy when i see him, i'm due to go to top gear 28th

and yeah shame Hammond didn't get to ride motorbike.. funny how the laziest one had to do the least work though (boat) and the youngest fittest had the push bike? Who chooses that set up then??? It was stig i felt sorry for!

MMM Hammy is rather fit! I did laugh when he got sneered at for not going through reds, just shows what wotsits bike riders are. I'm glad they got shown up for it, not that it will make any difference, but it shows they probably do cause the accidents that they bleat about. The best man won I'd say. I'm surprised the Stig didn't get arrested for suspicious behaviour, nor did I realise you had to have a licence for cameras.

Agreed - 125cc would be enough - I'd recommend the Sach MadAss, as it has the same width as a mountain bike!

Of course, it would all have been far too embarrasing.

Weapon of choice. 100 ton Main battle Tank with 'we break for no-one' on the giving end. Oh yes, forget turning, we just go straight through it all, building, bridge or barrier.

I use my 695 to get me from Sutton to Heathrow on a fairly regular basis - the cool thing is you can park for free right outside departures and it's undercover so you can chain an old helmet to the front wheel and off you go!
I didnt see how much luggage Hammy was able to get to City airport with him and also he would have to fly wearing Lycra!

It was a bit silly really, I though it was to show the best commuting vehicles, I don't suppose that many people have to get to city airport every day. Using the river a bit more would help, I know they have river taxis, but perhaps there should be more of them. Still it showed two wheels are best even if they were Hamster powered, and we got to see Hammy in lycra so it was win win for some of us!

Slightly off topic but on an old episode of top gear the other night I saw Clarkson drag racing a tuned snowmobile.... errrr isnt that just a motorbike with a flat bottom?

my ducati oakleys don't fit in me crash helmet, how daft

i hate a lot of the cyclist in the morning on the trip to town too, esp. the ones that overtake you on the wrong side of a keep left bollard to get through a red light and then right angle across in front of you or just damn well slow down. even more so when they have a huge empty bus lane to use (because the bus' are stuck at the lights back there)
ok, rant over
i still tolerate clarkson though
