It's just the 'PC' brigade at it again! It's bleedin' madness.

If anyone was to ask the minority groups ,they think they are defending, they would say it was madness too.

I used to work with a Sikh and he was always the first to deliver the Christmas cards around the office and he made a point of wishing every single member of staff a merry Christmas on the last day of work.

This is just one example in my experience. I also used to work in Birmingham with people from all ethnic backgrounds and I cannot see that any of them would think the idea of 'downgrading' Christmas in this country would be a positive or popular move.

Madness!!!!

I hear so much rubbish about not offending people that I'm becoming offended. Who should I write to?

I have no objection to anybody else's culture and I don't suppose they have an objection to mine so my plan for cultural harmony would be to celebrate everything if you want to.

Can we have them as bank holidays too :D

I loathe the run up to Christmas, starts in September, goes on 'till January. Having to suffer all that crappy, cheesy music & enforced jollification, bloody awful. If it was a couple of days, fair enough but it goes on far too long. If I had my way, no shop or media advertising would be allowed to mention the 'C' word before 20th December & after the 27th!:Furious:

I dislike Christmas as a religious event but that's me.
But as a reason to get together around the shortest day of the year and celebrate the new year I think it should stay. The giving and receiving of presents is a good enough reason to celebrate and for families to be together.
I think Christmas as a religious holiday was hijacked by the church of early times because the pagans celebrated at this time and the church didn't like the competition. The same as Easter.
Someone will be along to fill in the details, no doubt.

I don't do Christmas either but if the immigrants don't like it why don't they go back to where they came from? This is England and this is the way we do it,and if you can't accept that then go home.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

XMAS is good , holidays and family are good but the rampant commercialism and pressure to buy and spend spend spend is not good.Ban the orgy of waste and debt.

I think the people that come up with this sort of nonsense should be put up against the wall and summarily shot by a multicultural firing squad all wearing santa costumes:mad:

Its just some petty minded officials who are coming up with these ideas to justify their jobs.

As someone said earlier, if you ask most of the minority groups, they would say that it is a rubbish idea to downgrade Xmas.

But, opening the pubs all day on Xmas day is not a bad idea :booze:
