ive just been on teh sigma performance site, and they offer light weight flywheels.........

would changing my flywheel to one of their light weight jobbies make much difference? as in, noticable? or are they only really worht doing to a racebike?

Shandys fitted one to his M600 and he reckons its good.

Ive had my flywheel removed altogether on my track 748/853 (which you can do with the earlier motors) and its spins up like a biatch!!! :yoparty: I like it...

id read it again and make your own mind up

like the mighty shazamm says the weight of the flywheel is a genralisation for the whole population from rideing novices to trackday gods

and what suits one person may not suit another, try it and see i guess

i would wonder about running no flywheel at all though for road use

If you want a zippy engine it's good but not ideal for 'normal' use, then it depends how much weight you loose.
MXers always needed some mass added to make them more tractable and add a bit of grunt for lower speeds in enduros, only the full on nutters used the lightweight ones.

I have a lightened flywheel on my MTS. I wouldn't say I was a "full on nutter" but I do like the snappy feel it gives the bike. There are no downsides that I have seen and I wouldn't go back to standard.

I had one fitted, in the short term they seem great, quicker revving, but after a while they can also be a pain as the transmission is more snatchy, for road use I wouldn't bother.
