Hi All,

I've arrived in Paris for the Rugby, and my oil light is flickering at tickover; but goes out when revs are increased.

The oil level is just below the lowest line in the sight glass, so could be that or dodgy sensor.

Question is, what oil to buy. I usually by the recommended, SHELL Advanced Ultra 4T, but can't find it here... so can you let me know what I should buy instead, some generic oil? I've search forum and looks like 10/40? will it be called that here?

Cheers

Darry.

Haynes says 'any good quality fully-synthetic motor oil' with an oil viscosity of 'SAE 5W/40.

Anyways you lucky barsteward going to Paris for the rugby :hissy: :hissy: :eyepopping:

Thanks Peeps.

Found some 10/40 FUCHS Silkolene Pro 4 10W-40.

Great atmosphere at the game last night. Shame not to get another win, but the boys did good just to get there.

Ended up eating steak in a Restaurant off the Champs Elysees at 4am this morning with friends including Steve Thompson and Philip Sella!

Its been a great World Cup!

Yo dont forget if not a dry clutch ducati (ie 620 ect) they dont like fully synth as it makes the clutch slip.... had to drain mine after filled by mistake when serviced  slipped like a pig till oil changed.....

Hmmm, people seem to have different opinions about this. The ducati manual says to use fully synth and Shell Advanced Ultra 4T is supposed to be fully Synth and this is the recommended oil... I put in fully synth and no adverse effect or clutch slip. More importantly no oil light now! :)

I had problems with Shell Advance, switched to RockOil Synthesis R (fully synth again) when I changed the plates and no more clutch slip in 24K miles of thrashing since. I think there was probably a small batch of dodgy plates on some '02 620s.
