Could have been a chance Jerry to pit the RS against my R...

JerryXt

I believe these are the guys I did Brands at last time. They're good, but they're a little anal. They WILL inspect driving licences - both parts, and Brands will want to do a noise test on ones pipes.

Best to aim to get there a little early because you need to register, noise test and do the briefing. They will give you a wrist band to prove you've done the breifing - you won't get on the track without it.

If it's the same guys, they run NoVices first, so there's less time to muck about. For the first session, they do a couple of laps behind the instructor - I don't think you can pass on those laps, then in to the pits, stop, ditch the leader and out again! Wicked.

Mostro, did you see my monsters do brands post? A description of the track is there.

I didn't realise some of the guys from Rockingham were turning up. All we need is for Simon to turn up with a dodgy clutch and it will be like old times.

Now, JP, it's not a race! Having said that, I've got some new custom performance enhancers perched on the end of my nose - now I can actually see where I'm going, there should be no stopping me :D

I have a pair of standard Termis with baffles out. Is that typically within the decibel range, or should I bring my baffles with me?

My booking confirmation came back with the forms and I noticed it specifies full leathers or 360 zipped leathers.

I have textiles only and no 360 zip (Rukka jacket, Spada trousers, both fully armoured). Will that still be alright, or do I need to get new gear?

CK & AK
16-10-2007, 07:47 PM
You will need the 360 zip or full suit for this Mostro.

Thanks Jerry, I'm a 48 jacket and God knows what trousers (suit trousers are 32, don't know how to translate that into bike kit), so probably a bit big for me.

I'll check ebay for options, or use the opportunity to get some decent leather kit.

JerryXt
09-11-2007, 09:14 AM
Scrapps, it's 20 minutes - you won't have time to get cold :) I've got a windstopper undervest and some of these (http://www.dainese.com/eng/articolo.asp?cat=1,2,3,7&nome=M25_D-DRY®&articolo=1815498) to keep my fingers warm. Apart from that, just summer kit.

BTW, it looks like cold won't be our only problem :D (http://uk.weather.com/weather/local/DA3?x=13&post=DA3&code=8ng&y=9)

CK & AK
09-11-2007, 09:59 AM
Scrapps, wear as much as you like under your leathers mate - and be able to chuck coats on after.
Bring your own mugs etc for coffee - I'll supply kettle (think Jerry was going to bring hot water thing too?)

Just dont go out on track with anything over your leathers - fleeces etc are not designed to 'slide' - and the friction from casual clothing going on the floor can cause probs (fire, tangles with bike & easily broken lims)

Mostro69
09-11-2007, 10:06 AM
For warmth, I got kitted out at www.thermalshop.co.uk - tested it in my leathers this morning in the wee hours when it was about 1 inch cold and I was toasty warm with my glove liners, full-length thermals, balaclava and thick riding socks.

The EDZ windstopper is really thin and lightweight. You won't even know you've got it on. It makes getting the leathers on and off easier too. It rolls up to nothing. Easy to carry. And best of all it really works. Fantastic little bit of kit. Becasue it stops the draughts it also helps to keep you warm, although it isn't designed as a thermal layer. I use it on the road and with the race leathers when it's really cold.
http://www.edz.biz/edz-windstopper-innershell.html

I also use the EDZ undersuit all the time with my race leathers. It makes getting them off easier and helps to keep you cool in Summer and warm in Winter.
