Trying to find out how to book a track day at Brands Hatch... came up with these 2 links:

http://www.trackdays.co.uk/tracks/brands-hatch.htm

http://www.motorsportvision.co.uk/brands-hatch/trackdays/trackdays.asp?circuit=all&type=Bike

They both only have days for the Indy circuit though.

What's the best way to book a track day there? Any way to get the GP circuit?

Theres no days left for the GP Circuit as they only run a few a year for the full GP and theyre usually in the summer.

Heres some links for popular trackday organisers:

http://www.hottrax-online.com

http://www.focusedevents.com

I dont think the GP circuit will be open till about March/April 2008 now.

Hottrax, No Limits, MSV etc all do TD's there - will cost about £70 - £90 during the winter :)

check out No Limits (http://www.nolimitstrackdays.com/UKdates.htm) and Focused Events (http://www.focusedevents.com/event_list.asp?event_type=UK)
they are two of the main advertisers on uktrackdays and you don't pay the comission if you book direct.
If you're a DSC member you get 10% discount with No Limits, so a couple of trackdays a year and you get your membership payed for.
Be prepared for much higher costs for the GP circuit, since they need twice as many marshals, ambulances etc.

How about the budget? So the booking will be approx £70-£90, but what about new tyres/oil changes/other wear-and-tear costs, aside from any unknown crash-related costs?

oil your chain, make sure your tyres are ok, that's about it. Oh, budget 90p for insulating tape to tape up those mirrors, or, if you're cheap like me, take them off. Maybe get some crask bobbins for the front wheel.

Please let me know if anyone has firm dates - I might be up for one soon. New stuff to try out hopefully :D

Make sure your brake fluid and oil are are topped up.
Also check you've got plenty of pad material left on the front brakes.

Awesome, thought I'd have to budget for some new tyres... although being my first track day, I probably won't burn the rubber too much on the bends.

Just got clearance from the boss (aka wife) so this is looking likely for Nov.

ahem, yes, petrol! Also, it helps to know where the track is

Make sure it is petrol and not diesel as some G**er riding numpties put in their tanks the last track day I went to..

"I filled the jerry can up to make sure we'll get home"
What, doesn't the fuel gauge work in the van??

Oh how I laughed... :chuckle:

My tyres arent looking too good, and ive only done 3 track days....so you should be ok for the one. im getting a track bike next weekend as is cheaper than having to keep fixing my other bike and changing tyres all the time! :)

How does that work? You hire a bike at the track? (How much?) Or you're buying a whole 2nd bike for track only?

(Silly questions, I know, but this is a whole new world for me, only had the Monster since March, first big bike)

you can hire track bikes at most track days, eg race prepped R6...but not sure about price, id say not too cheap!

I am spending a grand and getting a bike purely for the track. last track day i crashed and have been quoted £2k to fix my monster...its a joke, but ive learnt a good lesson.

worth spending the money if you're planning to do a good few track days of a summer and then more after that!

Companies usually charge around £199 for bike hire, plus a hefty excess if you crash it.
