As I left work last night and went to pay those nasty monthly bills, I thought I had a puncture or just a bit of low pressure in the rear tyre as the bike was feeling a bit slippery!! Looked down at the engine at the only set of traffic lights I got caught at, and... The engine was blowing out white smoke. Looked closer and the remaining oil cooler hose had split!

I rode the bike slowly back to work, checked the oil level, and it was just below the level of the sight glass. Glad it didn't go on the A30! I sat in the office at work, playing Fifa08 on the PSP and waited for the recovery van. This started at 5.10pm, 10.30pm the van arrived! Quick recovery!! Well, he got caught in the traffic on the M25 (nice accident so I heard today!).

Woke up early this morning, striped off the last hose, drove to Isleworth and got the new hoses made up. £40 well spent at Think Automotive. Hoses fitted, no leaks. Test ride time. Rode down to Guildford Tyres at Chilworth and got a new Diablo fitted for £105. Sorted!

Back to the workshop, and fitted my latest Fleabay purchase.

If it was mine I'd go for satin black to match the sidepanels and belt covers

That's my lucky Road Runner mascot. He's been on every bike I've owner since 1996 :D It actually gives away the Loon bit of my name, as it definately isn't the way I ride a bike! ;)

My old man just christened my bike the 'Gooner Monster'

I best get the belly pan sprayed soon, before I am disowned by the old man!! :chuckle:

Banditloon,

That £40 price was a bargain for the cooler hoses, and I need a set for the trike as the originals are in a right mess. Have you got a contact number for the guys that made yours so I can give then a call?

BTW the black pan option gets my vote too

They are open Monday - Friday 9am to 5pm and some Saturdays too. Jut give them a call to check about Saturday opening times as they seem to disappear off racing (the mad fools!!! ;) )

And they do all the nice shiney anodised fasteners too :D Let your imagination run wild!!!

Definately black you can have too much of a good thing. The only downside is that black will show the muck more.

Well the Blandit does have 2 Road Runner stickers on it, did have the free Shell Road Runner cable tied to the exhaust hanger and I did have a flying duck stuck between the clocks and the screen... Why??? No idea..

Then I see these Goldwing things with a zoo attached to it, and wonder... Why?? :chuckle:

Did have an idea of attaching Shaun the Sheep to the tea tray, but the brake light wouldn't be seen... Maybe I could make Shaun the brake light Sheep. A little flag pops out of his head saying "STOPPING!!" That'll do! Where is a cigarette packet to design my new creation ;)

It was polished last week!! Bloody building sites on the way to work don't help. Bloody Terminal 5, Hayes town centre and Windmill Road has no tarmac at the moment :hissy:

Rain now isn't helping :chuckle:

Pipes will be polished soon, new cans to replace the obnoxious (scratched and falling apart) Vipers and some TLC for the wheels and engine :D

****ING Viper link pipes!! Right hand side one would not come off! Until the Mallets rubber mallet appeared from my make shift tool box. Knackered my shoulder, but after 30 minutes of hammering away at the link pipe, finally it fell to the ground with a satisfying "CLANG"

Ten minutes later (after a quick Monster ride around the yard with no cans on... HELLO NEIGHBOURS!!), and without any swearing. Allen bolts all tightened and bike singing a happy tune that doesn't involve rivets falling out and packing flying out of the rear end. K&N filter to be fitted when I get back to the number 1 workshop. Sorted, and all for the price of £255 :D Hurrah for Fleabay :D

God the wiring in the old clocks was crap!!!

Anyway, I have finally dumped the mess that was the original clocks and idiot lights. Also noticing the Muc Off damage to the carbon fibre surround of the old clocks (note to self, do not use muc off, ever again!)

Put the new carbon fibre dash on, swore lots as the idiot lights were all in the wrong way round and finally sorted everything out. Just need the rev counter and then the bike will be happy again. Even though my bodge job looks rather interesting!!

Cable ties and the closest thing I could find to cover the hole... A Cadburys Marvel tub lid..

Mine looking a bit interesting at Cowfold, on the way home after Brightona :D

I think I'll stick with the Termis, though a set of gatling gun cans could be quite interesting.

Decided to start getting prepared for renewing the insurance last night (it's coming up to a year of ownership... eeeeeeeeek!) Carole Nash, £145 fully comp or £110 TPFT, attacked the Ducati Insurance site and managed to get the quotes down to half price
