another silly question goin your way...

well i am gonna take the closer shims out tomorrow but since i saw in the ducati tech website that you need a piece of steel to measure the thickness of the shim i was wonderin if it is really necessary ? can you guys measure directly with the micrometer ?

cheers ! :yoparty:

You need an special measuring adaptor , can be ordereded from EMS in USA or get a Kawasaki 3mm shim from a local dealer they will do just as well.
I have used both methods.

It is possible but very difficult to get a meaningful measurement as your trying to measure on a radius edge.

If you can take the old shim to a dealer and ask for a new one x.xxmm thicker, they will then measure both shims using the same measuring tool/method.

Make sure your dealer will do this for free as some charge.
