hi all. i am lookin for some good advice. see below

what i have got now:

1997 M750 tank, silver colour
a medium size dent on the right hand side. paint is perfectly ok, there, lacquer perfect etc
a few minor scracthes that wont completely come off with scratch removals

what i want to have

same tank but matt black colour with no dent and same quality as standard paint-finish, with the cover of velvet revolvers last album on one side (this is done with a transfer right ?)

do u guys know anyone in the south east who can help me out ?

do you know what steps must be followed to get achieve a great result ?

eager for you knowledge.

slob, did you customise yours ?

There are a number of good paintshops (I'm sure you'll get some recommendations) around... I know of one near Heathfield in Sussex for example - they did my green bodywork, and specialise in metallic/metalflake and fancy flip-flop colours too...

However, I wonder about using a transfer? (not sure of the process involved) - but I imagine it would be difficult on the side of a tank due to the changing contours? It might be better to put the picture on the top of the tank between the filler and the seat (I'd say between your knees - ooh err!) as there is less curvature there?

Alternatively you could get an airbrush artist to spray it on, but that is certainly going to cost a lot more for a decent job...

Zxebeast, we produce the kind of transfer your after here at my place of work. (same thing as we stick onto the RedBullRacing RB3 - Super Aguri etc.) the basic process is-
1- get your hands on the artwork.
2- it then gets printed onto vehicle wrapping white self-adhesive vinyl
3- laminated (unless you apply it and then lacqure)
4- sweat like a pedo in a playground as you try to get it flat (no bubbles or creases)
5- crack open a beer or two
6- enjoy the results.

it is possible to apply on the sides of the tank but it's not an easy job to keep it from looking stretched around the contors.

I'll send over a image or two of the work i've done to my wee beastie asap.

slob, did you customise yours ?

customised mine by sliding the bike upside down on tarmac at the exit from Edwina's LOFL

...before that, it was a standard S2R tank from eBay with vinyl stickers in a custom size, to fit round the original decals, from a bloke called 'norsewood99' also on eBay.

Zxe, I know it's got too many wheels, and I will get some pictures of the monster as soon as I can dodge another domestic distraction.
The car was a plain white poker wrapped for the LeMans '05 race, then stripped back to white for the following weekend. The vinyl will stay on longer (5-7 years) but it shows what is possible.http://www.xtremegraphics.co.uk/motorsport_wrapping.htm
