Ok there's a few of us going to the track day on Friday and I know some will ride up on Thursday and some will arrive on Friday.

Who is leaving from where and what time will you be heading out. It's always good to meet up with you guys on route so NeilP and I will be heading over from Suffolk meeting up in Newmarket initially (time to be agreed ) then onwards.....

Come on where will you be so we can find you.

DESPERATELY wanting a lift for the bike from London!!! Happy to contribute to cost of transport - can't get Thursday evening off from the family and don't want to have to ride both ways Friday plus the track day.

I rode to Mallory from Bristol on Sat for the BSB meeting.
I rode through Tetbury, Cirencester, Stow, Morton, the further I went the worse the it got, cars abandoned everywhere, fire engines pumping out houses & shops & all sorts of debris littering the roads, it looked like a war zone.

I managed to get on the fosseway & got about half way, thats when things went really pear shaped, every road I went down was totally flooded, I ended up having to take about 6 detours (without a map!) I eventually got to Mallory Park, it took me 5 hours, normally it would be about a 2 & half hour ride.

I came home on Sunday Via the M42 & M5, but that wasn't easy either, there was 2 seperate crashes on the M42 with horrendous tailbacks which meant miles of filtering between lanes.

I was planning to ride up on Friday to say hello & take some photos, but they are forcasting more rain on Wed!!

If I think the Fosseway is clear on Friday I will be there.

I'm meeting Benson on Thursday at 3.30 at South Mimms Services and then we are off to the Royal Arms, I haven't a clue where it is, but no doubt we'll find it!!! This rain can so* off tho, it's getting beyond a joke and is it only raining in England??

Most people are staying at the Royal Arms Fiona but it may well be booked up. Not sure where it is, close to Mallory though, may be worth phoning them?

I stayed in a small B and B about 2-3 miles from the Royal Arms last year.

They were nice and friendly and had a barn to park the bike in - the room didn't have an en suite though.

Hi Fiona,

You might find someone who has booked a twin room who has a spare bed (I did that last year). Our fearless leader has booked a room for me but I don't know if it's a single or a twin, but if there's a spare bed you could crash there.

BTW, I'll be riding up Thurs arvo from Bracknell, which is prob on/near your route. Let me know if you want to hook up.

I will coming over to the pub on the Thursday evening for a quick bevvie, not stopping for food, have too much to do.

I only live about 8 miles away from Mallory. If you're not at the pub, see you at the track Friday morning.

Just hope my back is better else I will need some volunteers to lift me on to my bike.

Mand :)

I'm travelling down on Friday from Doncaster / Barnsley.

Anyone want to meet up?

While I'm thinking about it what tape is best to us to tape the Lights and Mirrors with?

I've got gaffer tape but as I can't turn the lights off on my bike (back off Brussels!!!!) I'm a bit worried about it baking on and being a nightmare to remove.

Do you generally tape up at the track or before you ride down?

Cheers

I normally use electrical insinuating tape. Any glue residue comes off with a rag and petrol. Never had it bake on though. Tape up at the track. Only takes a couple of minutes. You don't need to totally cover the entire headlight lens, just a cross on it will do fine. And put a bit around the indicators and rear lens too to be on the safe side. Take the mirrors off and you are good to go. Don't worry about having to carry tools, there should be enough of us around to help if needed. If you get stuck for anything come over and say hi. I'll try to help if I can. I should be in a large Mercedes Sprinter van with a couple of yellow bikes parked up.

I am driving up thursday afternoon and popping to the track before going to the royal arms, last year i left the trailer and bike at the track chained to 2 other trailers:thumbsup: ( thus not clogging arms car park with trailers also i am not good towing so would prob damage cars and bikes getting in and out ) are people staying at track,? is there someware i can chain trailer safe again ?

We chained our trailers together last year and that worked well, but I am going in a van this time round. I felt comfortable leaving it in the paddock last year because we left it parked up next to Stu from Spareshack's camp. I'm not sure I would want to do it again though if there wasn't anyone nearby. Several people parked cars and trailers in the Royal Arms car park last year. I've now got the hang of reversing but even now if it gets tricky I just unhitch the trailer, put it where I want it then back the car up to it and re-hitch it.

Damn Crap Poo S$*t the bike has not been fixed despite every effort, the heads have been taken off rings checked all looks to be in order gotta be something to do with the ecu or electrics or something in that order and needs to either have a second bike to borrow to try swapping sensers over to find the fault or getting it to a Ducati specialist. But it does mean no trackday for me. NeilP will also probably not head up so there may now be a spare room at the Arms. and a couple of spaces in the beginners group.

Have fun everybody and ride safely. :(
