Nice cans Joo.

Rogerg
27-06-2007, 08:51 PM
what no cans,

did you start it up without them on?

still get on ok with the neighbors?

I knew you'd come round eventually - still I think that bike would look really good with a black swing arm.

Finally, after so many photoshopped "look, I've got a tail chop" pictures!

And you'd better not stick your tea tray on ebay this week - I don't want competition!

How's your truck?

The kit is from JMo - Its her tail chop kit and is the only way you can do a proper pro job!

Contact her and she'll sell you one for £39.99 she has a few still left.

In fact PM me as she is staying over at mine for a few days if you want one.

Going out to buy the same Indicators as you Saz over the weekend!

Black swing arm soooooooooon!

Tut! Tut! Have you forgotten your pledge to Ruth not that long ago already?

I promise to cherish and tenderly care for you, to honour and encourage you. l will respect you as an individual and be true to you through good times and bad. I will never, ever, ever, succumb to the evil threat that is the TAIL CHOP! To these things I give my word

I really am so, very disappointed in you young lady. Hang your head in shame!
See me at the trackday!

Black swing arm is going on on saturday! Yeah!!

Engine casing will be powder coated black when i can afford (hopefully this Winter) Black belt covers as well.

Then put my can's back on after the swing arm and i'll post some more photos up.

I'm not a total convert to the tail chop - i like to think i sit in the middle - some bikes need one some don't. Mine did once i put those high level cans on as the indicators were balancing on the top of the can causing a nasty rub mark.

Then i saw Saz's dinkywinkers (who i like to stalk) and thought 'hmmmmm maybe i'll chop chop chop' and as you all know Jenny has been chomping at the bit to get my tea tray chopped off!

Watch this space...

Oh and BFD - Yes Sir.. Sorry Sir...I won't do it again Sir x

Had a bit f a problem with the dinky winker indicators today - they are earthing on the metal and not working properly. I bought Hein Gerike one's so got to take them back tomorrow and get Motrax (argghh) ones tomorrow.

I'll post a photo tomorrow when i'm flashing properly

Had a bit f a problem with the dinky winker indicators today - they are earthing on the metal and not working properly.

I had that problem with one set I had. Got them replaced with a different pair, and they're fine.

Took me ages to work out why they worked fine on the front, right up until I tightened up the headlight bolts.

Lookin' good Jue. I've now got lovely adjustable levers (and a rear brake that works).

The beast arrives next Saturday....

Hi Pixx (and Kiwi on page 1) -the kit includes a powdercoated aluminium bracket to remount the rear light to the frame (and tabs for optional indicators on each side, although personally I recommend the combined LED lamp from Clear Alternatives which has the indicators built in), all the mounting hardware, plastic bungs for the frame ends, and full (illustrated) instructions for carrying out the chop.

The kit is designed to utilise the original plastic numberplate bracket on your bike - I made a special one off metal bracket for Julie as she wanted it like that, but it was a lot of work, and again personally, I think it looks more 'factory' with the plastic plate holder. You also utilise the original number plate light, although alternatives could also be fitted if you prefer.

Julie's photos show pretty much what is required - you cut the rearmost section of the seat subframe, bolt on the bracket with the numberplate holder attached (to the existing holes in the frame), and stick in the frame bungs to finish it off- shouldn't take you much more than an hour...

If you'd like to order a kit, PM me and I'll sort it out... they are designed to fit any monster with the curved tea tray (that is essentially 1999 onwards)...

You can get a clear LED rear light with built in white LEDs for number plate illumination, then you wouldnt need the extra light housing. Looks good tho.

Or.....

Cut a window in the bottom & fill it in with clear perspex. I used an old CD case for mine and glued it in using silicone bath sealant. Worked a treat and allowed me bin the (naff) numberplate light :)

Those Sil high level megaphones are the mutts nuts Julie

arrrrrgh its winking at me (glad im not in the shed of dread)

umm painting plastic belt covers errm i keep useing halfords car spray paint
today ive been trying hammerite in a spray tin but im not rateing that very highly at the moment, what did you use on swingarm ? it looks more satin finnish than the gloss of the rest of the black bits

umm as a neverending cash spend you can get chromed bulbs to reduce the orangeness when not in use if your into that and clear lenses for the front an all etc etc

still all looking very tidey

I like orange len's thats what i wanted but this was the only option i could get and i needed it today.

The bike is satin finish and matchs the swing arm - its not gloss finish.

I looked into this, and because they need etch priming first etc etc It was all too much effort so i just bought some 695 ones instead - cost 40quid but lazyness is a virtue!

You know it makes sense...

http://www.ukmonster.co.uk/monster/showthread.php?t=19704

Do remember that the numberplate holder bracket in the pictures of Julies bike is a custom one-off - the kit is designed to utilise the original plastic numper plate holder from your own bike (or alternatively you could fit a suitably shapped RRsend bracket etc.)

See pictures on the thread above, and send me a PM if you'd like to order a kit...
