Twist right wrist quicker and lift left foot faster???

More seriously, what changes did you make to the gearing? - you could change that further perhaps, but I guess for acceleration what you need is more torque and the bottom end of the S4 engine is not as grunty as the air-cooled motors. Perhaps look at a capacity increase or ask the 916 brigade what they do to their bikes?

Magnesium wheels
Quickshifter

....Or Nitrous Oxide:idea:

Open Airbox & Power Commander. Then a couple of runs on a Dyno??

When you did C&S, did you drop from 15T to 14T front?
Anything that reduces the combined weight of bike and rider will help too.

14 front
39 rear

is that right

Smaller front sprocket AND larger rear. Did it to Beelzebub and he was like a nutter away from lights. Used to out accelerate my mates Fireblade up to about 80!!

how much smaller & how much bigger ??

I reckon a lighter flywheel is going to make a big difference to acceleration. It'll run like a dog on tickover but who cares about tickover, right? It's an easy mod to make and there should be a good selection around for the 916 engine.

Anorak on !!

Obviously, your bike’s ability to accelerate faster through the gears is enhanced by reducing the overall weight of the bike as well as the inertia of rotating components. The crankshaft, pistons and connecting rods, transmission gears, drive chain and sprockets, wheels and tires, clutch and flywheel are all candidates.

However, the overall weight of the bike and rider completely overwhelms any reduction of rotational inertia produced by a lighter flywheel. A two pound lighter flywheel on a 600 pound bike-plus-rider will accelerate only 0.3% faster. F=ma.

1.07 is very respectable mate.

Have a great holiday - just hope we get our normal annual dosage of nice weather on the 27th !!

I may as well put the standard one back on the DD bike then.;)

probably best to do that Gilps :p - they are illegal in the series y'know!

I'm sure your maths is right (without reaching for a calculator) as far as overall mass is concerned, but isn't the point of a lighter flywheel to help the engine spin up faster, and thus get into the 'meaty' part of the powerband/delivery sooner?

Yes I know, only kidding, although I've heard there are a couple out there with them fitted:worried: We're not allowed them coz they help with acceleration apparently, or not. The debate continues.
